Jon Miller never learns

I'm not sure we're going to be able to run 31 bubble screens this weekend.

Steele will need to throw down field more often this weekend. It should be interesting. If the run game clicks and Steele throws no more than 1 int, I like our chances.

Why not? Iowa will run their traditional 4-3. We have shown the ability to run the football so its not like their LB's can cheat over to cover the slot. If our receivers can block the corner it could be a big play.

Iowa needs to worry less about Steele and more about Shontrelle Johnson and James White. If they can't handle those two it will be a long afternoon for Iowa.

Agreed.... but it all depends on what happens up front.

As long as Jantz leads the Clones to a victory, I don't care about his stat line in any of the games. Only stat that matters is the scoreboard.

I think Tulsa was a good confidence boost for Jantz. He has the ability to do that again against Iowa, and other times this year. But I think we will and should establish the run from the start. That only makes Steele's job easier. We need to try to quite the crowd a little from the start, and I don't think they will be able to stop our run game. I'd like to see Nealy get a few carries too.

I wouldn't be against the first play of the game being a bubble screen though, except if/when they try jumping it we burn them deep.

Jantz was at home week 1 which to me is a huge advantage in the 1st game. How did he do on the road last year versus at home? JVB was on the road week 1 and he does not play nearly as well on the road as he does at home. If JVB's stats hold true he will throw for 260 yds, 2.6 td's and complete 67% of his passes while throwing .3 int's. That's what he does at home on average.

What does jantz do on the road?

Who gives a ****? Good quarterbacks don't care if they're playing at home, on the road, or on ******* Mars.

And Jantz' numbers are better on the road, for what it's worth...which should be nothing.

Mostly right.

Get good production from running game, stay on plus side of turnover margin, take advantage of scoring opportunities and maintain field position, Iowa State wins safely (perhaps not "convincingly" on the scoreboard).

If most of that happens, Jantz won't have to do anything spectacular.

if you watched the faceoff with CW he seems pretty level headed... guess he was just flattering Chris

It was ISU' Superbowl

Tate knocked himself out

Brad Banks had hand cramps

Our black jerseys overheated our players

If only the Hawks played you late in the season

If only the Hawks played you earlier in the season (2001)

Iowa gave away the game > 2011
(even though ISU fumbled three times in the Red Zone and should of won by 14)

Iowa doesn't care about this game

Iowa players take a 'business-like' approach

It's O'Keefe's fault

It's Bushs' fault

:twitcy:good gawd....these people amaze me

The played too early IMMEDIATELY followed by the played too late excuse is my all time favorite, because it actually happened!!! I mean how pathetic. Of course you left on one classic:

We came out flat.

This one used to be #1 idiot crybaby excuse before "it's your superbowl" overtook it. I think there were at least 3-4 "flat" performances in a row at one point.

Excuses are like Hawk fans...everyone knows at least one and they all suck!!

I just can't help but keep thinking about what Steele's numbers would have been like if it weren't for all the dropped passes. I know 6 of his first 7 incomplete passes all hit guys on the hands...
