Johnny Orr at his best

I need the refresher on the names of all 5 recruits ... I imagine that's the Hoiberg/Meyer class (?) (maybe I'm wrong) ... also can't immediately place the UI player or the "couldn't make grades."

(It would make a good trivia question)
Think Hurl B may have been in that class. Don’t think he meant Juri, unless he was a FES at the time.

It was May 1991, so that'd be the class of Hoiberg (Ames), Meyer (Ruthven) and Beechum (Des Moines).

Iowa guy would have been Russ Millard (CR Wash).

Student section had a lot of fun with Hurl Beechum when he would come back on that athletes in action team(or whatever it was called) for a few years.

He called me “coach” once and told me not to fall off my shoes. Such a character, a larger than life sort of guy.

Since you shared that anecdote, I have adopted "Don't fall of those heels" and use it occasionally.
Some things are just "useful", like that quote. I don't know how many times I could have used a quote like that but didn't. Most recently my wife, wearing about 3" cork heels to a wedding, and dance afterwards. Of course her feet were 'killing' her afterwards, and during!!

I'm certainly not jealous of you gals who have to wear high heels. Well, you don't HAVE to!

I can’t remember my wife ever wearing heals higher than an inch and that is a strain to remember.

They were prolly only 1.5-2". Tall enough to be uncomfortable looking, and uncomfortable for her.

Now I'll be careful she doesn't fall off her shoes in the future! Thanks Johnny! LOL

Smart by your wife.

These were 3+ inch heels and I am 5’9” but the guy I was with was at least 6’4” and I was young and dumb. Now I wear flats, am no longer young, and can’t find my phone unless it’s in my hand.

My wife is 5 5ish. I always thought I was 5 11 with shoes in school. My last insurance physical I had to take off my shoes. Both times they hit me at 5 11. I never really stood up straight in HS so maybe I was 5 12.

I think my wife would injure herself in high heels with the way she walks.
