I heard this on Friday but Rivals just posted it to make it semi-official.

John Wilkins - Yahoo! Sports

Not a huge loss Cyclone fans, you'll find bigger and better players. Wilkins is a project at best and there is a TON of baggage involved.

Zoot alors! On ne sait que Wilkins a fait un mauvais choix...il a choisi la mauvaise equipe!

Mais, c'est pas grave.

Everybody knows Wilkins made a bad choice, but it's not serious?

Sadly, I did that without a translator. They make us learn french in Canada.

C'est pas grave = no big deal.

I've heard the Quebecois are crazy-talkers from my french friends. Is that true? Many of them insist the Quebecois are speaking a completely different language.

Pretty much true. I grew up in western Canada. we hate the quebecois. they're like the mentally ******** brother whose rent you pay, but they don't appreciate it and take a dump in your laundry basket. separatist jerks.

I think that is where his father went - Jeff Wilkins ex-NBA Utah Jazz.

B.C.? Vancouver? Awesome wildlife out there. Likely a great place to grow up.

Back to the topic: it is too bad we lost Wilkins, but at least we'll have some extra scholarships for FH next year.

Thanks for the words. I only came here to break the news...not start a fight.

I am (obviously) an Indiana guy and as someone who roots for a program in the pits right now, I can safely say that we both dodged a bullet with this one. Every thing I have read and heard says that Wilkins is not cut out to play with the big boys. I would put any reasonable dollar amount on the table to wager that if I came back here in a year, you will look back and see that Wilkins was a 9th-10th man, even on a terrible team like Illinois St.

Not quite. Edmonton. nice city. not as sweet as Vancouver though. I would like to move there one day.

I know, I know...it's more a matter of horribly underachieving, haven't been to the NCAA tourney in 14 years, etc. Their record is typically good, but they also have had a bottom 20 non-con SOS so I lose a lot of respect for them because they won't schedule anybody. They have had a ton of talent the past 2 seasons but never could capitalize.

Just drove through the Yukon and BC last week and am currently in central Canada. The Muncho Lake area was incredible. What's the deal with the English they speak up here, ay. Just got change and recieved some loonies and twonies?

Yeah, i won't lie. the monetary system is stupid as all hell. Imagine when you are a kid and carrying all kinds of loonies and toonies and losing them all over the place.

I said again weird for awhile, and also add eh on some things, but nothing too bad. the real "canadian" drives me insane. makes you sound 10 iq pts dumber.. not unlike a southern accent..
