You've never been to the downtown deli then, they are a real sandwich shop.

I love downtown deli too. Unfortunately I didn't discover it until my senior year. It would be a tough choice between the two. Downtown is cheaper but West Street makes a slightly more upscale sandwich.

They're fast compared to Subway because Subway has something like 50 things you can put on a sandwich and it seems like 1/4 of the customers get all 50 things loaded on it.

I always wonder if you get mayo, mustard, ranch dressing, hot peppers, oil and vinegar, avocado smear...and 50 other toppings on a sandwich, how do you chose which sandwich you want? They'd all taste exactly the same.

Same thing at Chipotle, seems like half of the people get every single topping possible. Chipotle could add 10 more toppings and they'd get 10 more on it.

and every time i got to subway I'm behind someone ordering a very specific sandwich for everyone they've ever worked with.

How long does it take to fill up a drink? 25 seconds?

Less than the 2 min it takes to make my gargantuan.

I hate it when I get stuck behind those people in line because inevitably their burrito has to be refolded 10 times before the tortilla doesn't rip

I typically avoid JJ's because the owner seems to feel he has to be in every commercial, throwin' a football over them mountains, or draining a half court shot. That's also why I don't go to Whylie's, or Charles Gabus, or Rebel, the gutter-hanger, or the blond chick who wears stripper outfits that wants to set me up with new windows.......

That just made me laugh out load at my desk at work

Needed a quick dinner after a kindergarten concert earlier in May so ordered JJ's. Took at least 30 min for our sandwiches, we live about 2 miles or less from the mall location. Next day ordered pizza online from Papa John's and it got here faster than our JJ's did the night before. No so freaky fast, are you?

I eat a subway all the time and the actual customers bother me more than the employees.

Do you really want everything on your sandwich? Are you getting everything just because it's free? Do you realize that low fat turkey sandwich is no longer low fat when you add everything?

This!!

Side note: I am guessing that if West Street Deli became a franchise, people would not like that as much either...

Ironically, I just started the franchise process with JJ's this week! JJ's is awesome and I swear they put crack in the bread. No stupid gimmicks. Just meat & bread - freaky fast.
