Jeremy Lin

The best part of this story is that he's been sleeping on his brother's couch in an apartment on the Lower East Side. His brother is a dental student at NYU & Jeremy's contract wasn't even guaranteed until Tuesday afternoon. I'm guessing he'll be able to find something a little more permanent now.
 
This kid is nuts!
He should be able to play with Amare.
If you put Amare at the PF, Carmelo at the SF, Lin at the PG, Chandler at the C, and Landry Fields at the SG this team is pretty good.
They need to run the game through Lin, or else this will fall apart.

It is the Mike D. system. You need a decent point guard. When Raymond Felton or Chauncey Billups was at the helm, they were not half bad. This guy settles it for them. Is it me, or does he remind anyone of John Starks? Undrafted, underrated guy, but tough as hell and a great basketball player.
 
I had never heard of him before tonight when my twitter blew up with posts about Lin and Kobe.

Too bad I didn't switch to the game, but watching the highlights was pretty fun. He's not just a jump shooter---he has some pretty good moves to the basket.

It sounds like he is a good kid as well. Fun story, might have to watch for Knicks games on TV now.
 
I remember him from Harvard being real good and putting up over 30 against a good UConn squad. Calhoun said he could play for anyone. Was real excited to see him get picked up last year, especially after he schooled John Wall in a summer league game. Couldn't figure out why nobody would play him much.

******* LOVE that he's playing now and ridiculously well. I don't know if the ridiculous numbers will keep up, but I think he will keep putting up solid numbers in the league (i.e. at least 15 points/game).

He and Stoudemire should work well together. I just fear for when Melo comes back (who I think is one of the most overrated players of all time). Melo will probably hog the ball and their team chemistry will go down as a result unfortunately.

The guy makes everyone better around him. Didn't Jared Jeffries have almost a double double the other night? When is the last time he did that? Been years..
 
How did I not hear about him until yesterday. What a story. If the Knicks make the playoffs......it'll be a Tebow likke bandwagon. I might be on it.

Ya, I broke down my grandpa on a cross-over the other day, I mean just freaking nuked him. He fell down and I was like, "get up old man".

Grabbed his hand to help him up, then let go about half way up. He fell back down and I was like, "clean yourself up"...but I'm not claiming superstar yet.
 
Is it just me or does D'Antoni know how to get the most out of any point guard...Turned Nash into an MVP, made Leandro Barbosa a top 15 point guard in the league with him coming off the bench, Raymond Felton, now Jeremy Lin....Maybe ISU should bring him into develop a true point guard :jimlad:

Some have predicted that Lin, because of his faith, will become the Taiwanese Tebow, a reference to Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, whose outspokenness about his evangelical Christian beliefs has made him extraordinarily popular in some circles and venomously disliked in others. But my gut tells me that Lin will not wind up like Tebow, mainly because Lin’s persona is so strikingly different. From talking to people who knew him through the Harvard-Radcliffe Asian American Christian Fellowship, and watching his interviews, I have the sense that his is a quieter, potentially less polarizing but no less devout style of faith.

Fun fact: Lin wasn’t even considered by many as the best player on that team. Cooper Miller, a lanky center, was the big star. They went on to win the league title, and then it was on to high school, where Lin really started to shine. He played for Palo Alto (the same high school where Jim Harbaugh played quarterback) under Peter Diepenbrock, a meticulous, defense-minded coach who took Lin under his wing and polished him to maximum brilliance. In his junior and senior seasons, Lin’s Paly teams went a combined 64-3, including a CIF Division II State title upset of nationally-ranked Mater Dei of Los Angeles in the 2006 finals.
