Jeremiah Williams to the transfer portal.

I’m sure Lipsey is going to work his ass off to improve his perimeter game this offseason and if he does he’s a 30-35 minute a game guy regardless of who else is on the roster. That probably had a lot to do with Williams’ decision.
This

For whatever reason I never felt any type of way about him. He was always just kind of there to me.

Wish him nothing but the best! Very frustrating and sad for him, had to be, thinking he was going to play a lot, then getting injured. Wound up not playing a single minute for ISU.

I hope his achilles heals exceptionally well in the next year or two, and that he is able to play to 90% (say) this year, and 100% next year. Either way, I'll be watching (and hoping) to see how he does.

Two things can be true. 9/10 times when someone leaves why does everyone assume it’s for playing time?

I’ll just sit back and watch my dumb reactions pile up
You think he had a choice about sitting on the bench when he spent the entire season with a cast, crutches, then walking boot?

With Williams entering the transfer portal will the Cyclones go with 12 scholarship players again or will they go shopping for the maximum 13?

I still think they could use another true Center.

Jones is erratic and Ward saw little playing time last season.

Wouldn't use the scholarship just for the sake of using it at this point. If they think they can get an impact player then use it. Grant Nelson from NDSU is probably the top transfer still in the portal but Kentucky is already in on him. I'm looking at On3 2023 College Basketball Transfer Portal Top Players (on3.com) and there isn't much left if you consider we signed Gilbert #18 and Paveletzke #27 and even if you start to venture past the top 50 ranks who in there stands out that fits a need?

This actually helps me make sense of why we took 3 guards and no bigs in the portal so far. I know we have great front court talent coming in with the high schoolers, but it felt like we could use a little more experience and depth there. Perhaps the staff was planning on this coming.

Exactly!

I hope they don't bank it, but at this point in the process, I kind of lean towards that's what they'll do.

I would love for them to find a Big Rob replacement in the portal, even if he has to sit a year. People give him a lot of ****, but he does a lot of junkyard dog stuff for this team that will actually leave a pretty big void after the upcoming season IMO. Need to bring in another enforcer type. Moussa Cisse is still in the portal, and would be ideal get for them as a sit one, play 2 guy. Cisse and JT Rock would make for a really solid front court in 2024-25.
