Jeremiah Cooper NIL representation

Sooner or later the NCAA will just have to share revenue with the athletes. Equally between schools. Somehow.

Governors/Regents/Congress....whoever, will just have to grab these P5 schools by the ears, spank them, and send them to their rooms.

Cyclone06, you laugh, and I laugh at my thought too because it probably won't happen. But it needs to happen. All of these athletes and NIL proponents complained about all of this money that the NCAA and P5 schools rake in, and how that money should be shared with the athletes. Welp. They're still raking in in, and they still aren't sharing it with the athletes. The NCAA and "real" endorsement deals should pay the athletes. Not the fans or boosters. Just my opinion.

Here's the logic in Cooper staying. Not saying he will but why he would. He's got one year before he's draft eligible. He knows how he'll be used here and can enhance his draft status. He transfers and it's a crap shoot. If the NFL is the priority (like it was for Tampa) he's better off staying. That said 600k is a lot of insensitive so hopefully we can offer enough to let him bet on himself.
Agreed. I don’t know if $600K is the number but if you are an NFL prospect and have 1 rear of eligibility left it’s dicey to transfer. For a younger player I think the equation is different.

I don’t think it’s fair to make these type of statements without any additional facts. Nobody has any additional context to what’s going on there
I honestly don't know. On the one hand, if a player was making an NIL deal for "only" 20 or 30K, it would be wise to have professional representation. BUT, such representation could also act as a clearing house to connect a player to the highest bidder. Time will tell.

I think our higher ended guys are getting paid more than 20-30k

What is there to suggest Tech has significantly more money than Iowa State? Our athletic budgets are comparable. How much NIL money do they have?

According to Blum, a lot. We're last in the conference for NIL.
