Definitely less. Used to be we'd have 20+ kids from texas on the roster, now i think we have something like 7-8.
Our recruiting strategy has benefitted from the geographical change in focus that's for sure. I still have ptsd from the rhoads years of getting Texas kids with one offer from New Mexico - that just wasn't going to work.

I like this kid though - good speed and height. Let Deon Broomfield coach him up and he could be a strong FS, or corner if they think he has the hips.

Why you gotta be picking on New Mexico?!?!

That number is 65k for most to be free. Subsidized up to 100-200 at some.
I think it is much higher than $65,000 for full aid.

But yes, we are saying similar things. IMO, within 10 years, it might be free to go to an Ivy.

I went off this article. I know that too many articles are light on research now so I’m not saying it’s 100%. I considered Cornell when I was in college, actually glad I didn’t finish the process and went to ISU.

Nice article. Note: it well into the high $70's for room, board and tuition. Unfortunately or fortunately, I have a lot of experience at writing checks to two different ivies. Good for u on your decision - I love it.

Recently, David Geffen just gave $150 million to Yale's drama department so they never have to charge tuition. Ken Langone, about two years ago thru a lead gift, made nyu's med school tuition free. Non-ivy, but a great school.

Yeah, how things are worded can be confusing. Had a friend whose kid played college ball at a non D1. Was always saying he got a full ride. Talking to the friend during the sons final year, said he would graduate with 30k of debt. I asked about his full ride, friend said, yeah he had one but that only covers tuition. Stayed quiet because I realized my friend didn’t understand what he was talking about.

We had a kid that didn't weigh much, 165 I think, but he could sure hit and play football. Timmins was his name and he was the starting safety on the 2000 Insight.com bowl team.

“It aint the size of the dog in the fight. It’s the size of the fight in the dog.” One of my favorite quotes.
