Best of luck to him, but frankly this is GOOD news. He had no business playing at the P5 level.
Seems like we already have a pretty big back log of minutes anyway. If something big came up of course but otherwise I think it’s a good plan to roll with what we have and see what works this season and then go from there.
That is why it would be a grad transfer. Someone that has one year to play and then they are gone.

There really aren't guys this time of year (outside of Javan who will be going down a level). If anything its a mid year transfer...most likely opens up another scholarship for next year. You wouldn't take a guy at this point of the year unless he was clear upgrade in starting 5.
I really liked Javan’s game. I think he’ll be a solid player elsewhere.
We have 3 SOLID pieces to the 2022 class. An open spot allows us to go big game hunting for guys like this

Sounds like I may be in the minority here, but I liked his game. I thought he was a good coach away from being a star. He just needed better shot selection and decision making. I liked his size as a ball handler.
Is he going to count toward the scholarship limit for this school year? Or are we able to add someone else?
I do agree. He’d probably be a 16-17ppg player in the Missouri Valley
JJ would have been a RS Sr this year, correct? If so, excluding any covid year, he would have been done after this year. If I'm right on those two he doesn't save us a Scholly for next year, as this was his last year.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Edit: So we just have a wasted scholly this year, right. Might as well get someone if you can this year. Don't really need to though.
