Jamie Pollard

Are we seriously blaming JP because our defense can't give up less than 7 yards on a run play? Seriously? It was a neutral site for the love of pete....:skeptical:

and our offense cant get down the field. so what if JP wanted it in KC. Its 1.3 million dollars to play down there. good move.

I like that we've had these games in kc. With that said, I listened to pollards little pep speech last night and I have to admit that it's getting a little played out.

Better team won. Both games.

I agree today...last year not so much. I think the better team was the one heading north with a loss last year. Two of their TDs were on broken plays last year and we had a dumb turnover while trying to get some extra yards after the first down. Looking at some of the other games, KSU won less games and played two FCS teams.

My buddy said the same thing, although I didn't hear it myself.

He's a one trick pony, it would appear.

yes , my opinion changes.
These were winable games.
Home field advantage would have carried the day.
These games were played one hour from Manhattan, Kansas and
4.5 hours from Ames.
It is similar to scheduling it in Des Moines.
I would have drove to Des Moines any day of the week,
and so would have 50,000 Cyclones.

I love Jamie Pollard,
but just like the Coach is responsible for a lose,
I think he should man up on this one.

I do not want to get rid of Jamie,
I am irritated with this one, and
Jamie is responsitble for crap.

Might want to use a little better logic next time before you start to whine. Last year's game should have been in Ames. Could we have won? Maybe, nobody can say and you can't assume that we win another 5 games last year to go to a bowl. Playing in KC last year did not prevent the team from having a successful year.

This year's game should have been in Manhatten. Some posts seem to assume that KSU would be kind enough to play both games in Ames.

We had a chance to win this year in KC, but came up short. I doubt if we keep it within striking distance if played in Manhatten given KSU's talent advantage. Anyone who doesn't give the edge to KSU at most positions at this stage of the program isn't being open minded in terms of judging talent. Prince left behind some good upperclassmen and Snyder has done a good job of filling in the voids.

WOW...love how we blame everyone but the people that played the game for losing. ISU is now 0-3 in games in Arrowhead...maybe that alone should say do not play there anymore! (yes all three were close but we still lost)

And I am not sure how fast or slow you drive, but it is about 2.5 hrs from Manhattan to Arrowhead and I have made it in just over 3 to DSM from there. Very neutral setting.

The crowds each year were not good. ISU did not travel great, we traveled well, but figured that we would have a lot more there each year than we did.

Having the games on TV were great, do you really think if the games were played at home sites they would have been on TV? I don't.

So THANKS JP for getting ISU a nice paycheck for two years in a row! That will certainly help pay for all of the MBB salaries that we are still paying...

Not when you have a whopping 38,000 in a huge NFL stadium. Crappy field to boot.

exactly. don't know why you'd ever give away a home game for what was seen in KC today. Not sure you give up a home game for anything, actually.

it would make sense playing there against utah or a non conference opponent. not k state in K.C.!!!! what was goiung thru his mind?

Im guessing that this wont be scheduled again in the future, the low attendance can't be making the chiefs (believe theyre the ones that put this and the payments to ISU\KSU together) much money.

If the money's there, we have to take it, but i wouldnt mind having another home game. Though get ready, im sure they'll jack the season ticket prices and say 'per game, its the same as before'

And if we would have played at manhattan this year, we would have lost by two scores. Jesus, some of you are too funny and want to blame others for anothers problem.

Question: How much do we make off a home game?
Average about a million dollars for a home game.

$1.8 million over 2 years >>>>> 1 million over 2 years.

I thought the City of Kansas City was paying the teams? They EASILY got their $1.8 million back out. All the Cyclone fans in hotels, restaurants, bars, etc. I'd be curious to see how it stacks up against the border rivalry since that easily sells more tickets, but I doubt they have as many people stay in Kansas City.

I don't know, the numbers look the same, because we have so many games on television. Extra money isn't traditionally a problem for our department.
