I'll be going to Montego Bay in roughly 15 hours, just wondering about people's experiences. We're staying at an all inclusive but will trek away from the hotel for some excursions -- heard good things about Dunns River Falls and Zipline tours.

I have been to Dunns Falls. Its pretty cool. They love to drink around there as well so enjoy yourself. Also its not hard to find weed or other drugs so be ready for that stuff as well.

Ask Brianhos directly. He has been to the island many times.

He's the one to go to for inclusives. Though there are some great local resturants too. In MoBay there is an Island Grill that is pure Jamaica food in a fast food setting. YUM!! KFC is also good, better seasoning and less breadding. Not to mention if you can do a day trip to Negril & 7mi beach

Definately go parasailing!! I think I have a picture of that in one of my albums.

And if you get a chance try to find a place to get jerked pork/chicken. Really really good.

Also if you are flying back out from MoBay, get pizza at the bobsled cafe (something like that) good size pices and very good. If you get a chance go inland and see the hills and crazy driving!! (blind curves everywhere)

Appleton Estates has a factory tour at their rum plant. Free tasting session afterwards. Only thing that they don't let you taste is their top end 30-year rum. but you do get to taste their v/x 12 year blend.

Where is that? None of the Fairview students mentioned it to us. They all thought we should see Ocho Rios though.

It couldnt have been more than 10 miles from Sandals Montego Bay. We signed up for the tour at the desk of our resort with the guide. I can't remember the name.

Don't forget to pack Cy

Sorry I don't have much advice for Montego Bay, I have been there 5 times, but only to and from the airport.

Get out of the resort at least 1 day, go see the falls on a day that the cruise ships are not in port. Another thing I want to see if I ever am on the east side of the island is nine mile (Bob Marleys home).

The thing I love most about Jamaica and the thing that keeps us going back year after year (we are booked again for 2010) is the people. Meet the locals, sit down with them, have a red stripe, and just chat. Go out and get some real Jerk, and not the resort stuff, it is crazy spicy and delicious. So much to do, but that sand gravity is hard to overcome.

I suppose this thread is appropriate for this.

Which resort are you staying at? Always looking for new places to stay.

Nothing too fancy, Holiday Inn SunSpree. All inclusive, very well priced and has lots of amenities right at the hotel. Figured we'd save money on the hotel, since all you do is sleep, and spend the money elsewhere.
