Jacques Washington?

Money was at the bars last night (per people we tailgate with). I wonder if the decision to not play was made before the team went to the hotel Friday.

Some of you "holier than thou" types just crack me up. Did any of you go to college? I believe Mr. Reynolds is of age - broke no laws that I know of. Sounds likely he knew he wasn't playing today so went to the bar. Big F'in deal! Get over yourselves.

So why was he suspended if he did nothing wrong? Doesn't have to be illegal to be against team rules.

Going to the bar is one thing, but the night before a big game? Cmon.
And it must be a big deal if he might have been suspended.

I will never get over myself.

Read my post - my statements are based on the assumption that he knew he wasn't playing (i.e. he was suspended before he went to the bar.) And if he knew he wasn't playing and is of age - what is the big f'in deal? Besides - just what are the team rules about going to the bar of age on a Friday night? I wouldn't know because I'm not on the team.

Injury ≠ suspension

Breaking team rules (Rule - being with your team at the hotel the night before the game) = suspension

I believe the suspension occurred earlier this week. Not good for him if he went to the bars last night too. I can't think the coaching staff would be fans of that.

Ok - The facts seem hazy to be sure. But, what seem to be suggesting is - he was injured. Due to his injury he knew he wouldn't play today. So, he either never shows up @ the hotel OR sneaks out from the team hotel, gets caught? Certainly is plausible. Do you have any direct knowledge?

Coach said he was suspended for violation of team rules/not meeting expectations of the team during the post-game press conference. I heard it live and it was reported by multiple news sources (Ben Bruns, Bobby LaGesse, and The Daily writer) . That's all I need.

You just aren't going to get it.

1) That is a big assumption. And even if he already was suspended it would probably not be a good idea to go out to the bars before the game instead of being with the team. Not a lot of leadership there.

2) The rules probably don't allow it as the rest of the entire team is in Des Moines in a hotel together watching UP or something

So based on a generic statement and message boards - you've cracked the case! Sorry, but "not living up to team standards could be a million things." Skipping classes, missing team meetings, - who knows. It certainly doesn't seal the deal that it was due to being @ the bar last night.

Anyway - as I stated I don't know the team rules - but I was a college athlete and teammates of age had slightly different rules than underclassmen did. That's all I'm saying. Perhaps Paul Rhoads code of conduct for the team outlaws drinking during the game week - or in season - not sure as I've never read them.

Either way - we can all agree the young guys stepped it up and played adequate. But, let's be honest, this year Money (when he has played well) is our best big threat receiver (and probably best blocking WR.) We need him.

Totally agree on this. We do need him. Hope he knows that too when making late night decisions.

Hopefully, they continue to step it up and not break team rules in the future.

We need him as a deep threat so we can do what the offense is designed to do: stretch the defense to make as much space as possible.
