Jacob Park to transfer

I'm sorry Jay Bilas but you are WRONG with your take on Park's release. This was not your "everyone shake hands and wish each other the best" release so the terms are reasonable considering the damage he tried to do the program on the way out the door.. Park burned just about bridge on his way out calling out the staff, his team, and the fans who all loyally supported him through his undisclosed "health issue" that we later found out was a positive test for smoking pot. The support system was in place for him to turn this into a positive ending and once he saw that this team was bigger than him and could win despite him letting his teammates down he took the excuse route and blamed everyone but himself. Joel Lanning probably does not have an evil bone in his body and to say what he did speaks volumes.

I'm guessing Park maybe had hoped the team would fall apart under a 3rd string walk on QB and fans would be clamoring for his return. There is a reason this kid has bounced around as much as he has and I hope he finally finds a place that can harness his talent and get the best out of him. Limited where he goes should not be an issue because if he wants to get revenge on ISU by signing with a team they play he has not learned any lessons from his mistakes.

Not a good look for Bilas. A bad take, not to mention a guy like himself working at ESPN and leeching off amateurs shouldn’t be throwing stones.
Bilas has had the luxury of sounding a hell of a lot smarter than he is by being around blithering idiots like Vitale and Greenberg. I just don't think his takes on paying athletes are all that bright. He wants them to be paid, he wants the coaches to still get crazy salaries, he wants the student athlete facilities to keep getting better. We just need to take the money from the guys with monocles and top hats at the NCAA that are making hundreds of millions each year.

UNI and Drake are silly. He's not going to go there.

You always restrict them from in conference teams and also teams on the schedule.

Bilas can go get bent.

If Campbell really hadn't talked to him, that's a ******** way of handling this and I hope he learns something.

There's a lot of gray area in this story.

One thought I have is that Jacob probably wants to cast some of the blame elsewhere so that he looks a little bit more desirable to another team for next year.

Another is that Matt Campbell, being a college coach, has probably seen this before from other players, and possibly knew that this was why he couldn't stick at Georgia. Pure speculation on my part, I know. The comment about the fans in this article, and his Twitter feed stating the complete opposite make this story about as clear as mud.

Maybe MC will have some comments, maybe not.

Ive never considered this but thats a really good point. How many ESPN staff members get paychecks solely because of NCAA sports...from Corso to Bilas to Rece Davis, etc.

Bilas is a loser! I understand his point a bit, but putting restrictions on a kid is a little like a no compete clause that a lot of jobs have correct? If im wrong feel free to attack me but thats the way i look at the restrictions.
