Jacob Park to transfer

Never mind - don't whine that the fans never had your back. We all wanted you back, don't get upset the fan base was ecstatic when Kempt beat Oklahoma.

Literally no one was rooting for his demise.

I don't care to do it but I bet "literally no one" is a false statement.

If Campbell really hadn't talked to him, that's a ******** way of handling this and I hope he learns something. If that's not true, there's one rule for these things: Don't turn a one day story into a two day story. No comments, just move on. Personally, I didn't feel as though the fanbase was really behind him after the OU game but I also didn't feel as if they were rooting against him. Then you have all the comments when he made the SM appearance a couple weeks ago.

It's time to just move on now. Go find a grad transfer for some depth and move forward with Zeb, Moore and Mitchell.

I’d love to see examples of fans “turning” on him. Seems like he is annoyed Kempt and Noland played so well and earning his job back would have been difficult.

I wish him all the best but he doesn’t exactly have the best track record to earn the benefit of the doubt.

There are definitely some inaccuracies in what he said that I know of for sure but best luck to him wherever he ends up. He's very talented

Odd quote...

“Everybody says these fans are so loyal, right?” Park said. “Like, they were the first ones to turn on me. I got to witness this from a whole other perspective that most of you never get to witness.”
Yeah, the replies to his tweets are almost uniformly positive/encouraging:
https://twitter.com/Jacob_Park10/

Sure, some people (e.g. on here, etc) speculated (correctly, it seems! drugs plus too much pressure) about things and said "you quit, see ya" or at assumed he was gone, but I wouldn't call it vitriol or anything. And most gave benefit of the doubt.

So when he said this he was just "playing nice" b/c he wanted to see how things played out?

Going to the media is not a good way to break this story for Jacob Park (for his ISU career, or potential future destination if he has now voluntarily left two P5 programs - Georgia and Iowa State). Hope he straightens it out for himself, his family, and rest of life. Regrets are nasty things to carry with you.

Remember this Jacob!!

Too bad he went bad on coach and fans. Most of Cyclone Nation had mostly fond memories of him.

I guess I didn't see the fans turning on him on, at least on this forum. Outside of a couple people on here, most of us were hopeful he could work through his issues and make a return.

Either way, I wish him luck and hope he can be successful at his next stop.

I get he had his struggles and we all got on him after that Texas game but that’s because we all knew what this team would be and what he could mean to this team....

Then he makes his own selfish dumb off the field mistake and we all become supportive of that and hope he figures it out to get back to the team and he comes out and says that....??

Nah man get outta here with that BS.

The team proved it didn’t need him to succeed and he becomes instantly bitter and turns on the fan base. And worst of all turn on Campbell??

Woof.

Odd article....isn't this kind of information (player seeking transfer) usually disclosed by the coach?

Perhaps these kind of quotes are an indication as to why he didn't work out beyond his life situation.

Heck of an arm talent but if he's out on this kind of a note it's unlikely he figures it out any time soon.

This is my shocked face.

Lay off the pot Park.

His twitter feed completely contradicts the article that the fans and team turned on him..

This is the classic response of a guy that screwed up big time, saw his replacement have a ton of success, and jealousy enraged him. He's bitter and he's looking for excuses and scapegoats. It's hard to foresee a great future for this young man unfortunately.

Man, almost all of us fans were all behind him and needing to do what was best for him.. he had a family to look after, football comes second to that.. hope he figures it all out for his kid's best interest and best of luck to him.

Your first sentence is wrong according to him, read the article - he says we all turned on him.

I supported him through all this but after that statement good riddance.
