I have watched Rick Carlisle coaching for five long years, and his favorite tactic is to set his players for several games and make them suffer on the bench. When they come off the bad boy list, they play very hard. Unfortunately, for the Pacers, they had the "crowd incident" in Detroit, many injuries, "must trade Ron" fiasco, and then more Carlisle benchriders. This Rick approach to coaching just did not work in Indiana last year. With the rise of Cleveland and Memphis and Charlotte, Rick's days may be numbered. Maybe the Knicks need Rick. They could run in a lot of combo guards from his second team. Personally, Rick would not be my favorite coach to play for. Looks like Anthony Johnson, Austin Croshere, Jeff Foster, David Harrison, Fred Jones, Scot Pollard, and others all have same problem as Jamaal.
