If anything, now you’ve had a taste of why we can’t stand Iowa fans.

I think things become official once you have a clone cone while streaking across the Hilton Coliseum floor.
Next year at this time you will probably be a Badger....Well first off, it's thoroughly tongue in cheek. I've always rooted for ISU when they aren't playing Iowa, but I'm still an Iowa fan first. As for the timing, I just started a new job in Wisconsin and couldn't go home for Christmas, so I've got little else to do. And I haven't been on the HN forums for years. The conversation there lost its appeal a long time ago.
One does not just come over from being an Iowa fan and get instantly accepted as one of us without a certain level of apprehension on our part you do realize. I suggest putting your status of your Cyclone allegiance on Hawkeye Report...let the uneducated Squawks excommunicate you from their dark side with their mindnumbing comments...show your work to us and then and only then we will take you into our fold.![]()
I just learned something about myself tonight. I've apparently crossed the line and become a full-blood Cyclone fan. How I realized this, you ask? I had the gall to suggest that Iowa State had the better football season and that, while Iowa is better than a Kempt-led ISU, the Cyclones would be favored if the teams played again today with Purdy leading the huddle. I was subsequently labeled an ISU homer by an Iowa fan who assured me that he's "not retarted," and who could present no factual evidence beyond the head-to-head result to refute my claim (he claimed Iowa's schedule was tougher, to which I responded with multiple SOS rankings putting ISU ahead of Iowa). Me, the Iowa alum named for a former Hawkeye player who also worked for the athletic department for the last 2+ years, was secretly a died-in-the-wool Cyclone. Or maybe it happened gradually and I just didn't notice (as such things tend to happen). Regardless, I hope you'll welcome me with open arms.![]()
