It's gonna be a long year

I do not understand that. If that was the case, could you explain why he moved to a league where they play a game almost EVERY SINGLE DAY and the average team can play more than 70 games in a season?

I'm pretty sure the average team plays at least 82 games in a season...

This x 1000 absolutely agree. Not pleased with prohms job so far.

Last year's team lost to South Carolina, Texas Tech, Kansas State, and UAB.

I'm assuming you weren't pleased with Fred's performance last year?...

This teams issues aren't anything new that just started under Prohm.

What game were you watching burton recently and Cooke all season have been a huge step down from our starting 5. They had opportunities today to contribute and played poorly burton on both ends. You couldn't afford to keep them in. Not a lot of options for prohm.

A couple of people on the ISU bench are going to have to get some minutes, or else the starters will be wiped out towards the end of February.

Do it like Self did in the OU game. Diallo looked pretty lost out there, but he got minutes in the first half. Give the bench the minutes in the first half. If they play well, you can use them in the second half. If they don't, go with the starters for the second half, but at least you gave your starters some rest.

Yep and it is unfortunate we did not use more of the non-conference games as teaching moments.

Meh, he needed heart surgery (looked ghostly pale and couldn't wear a tie) and possibly had one foot out the door. I think most realize the caliber of coach Fred is.

McKay has one skill: dunking. That's it. He's a pathetic ******* defender, he's weak with the ball on offense and he probably airs on 90% of his block attempts.
Mckay just doesn't want to defend at all and understands that his hope is euro league at best.

I agree.........I think people taking this way to seriously. I like Prohm and think he's a great coach. He's got a lot on his plate and this transition hasn't been easy. Beating up on the players and coach isn't going to do any good. We are going to win a lot of games this year.....maybe not all that most had envisioned but I think they will end their senior years on a positive note. We can beat anyone in this country on any given day. It's up to the players to decided if they are going to do it on a regular basis.

Disagree 100%. Not sure how you can come to that conclusion. Remember, this team had an amazing run in the big12 tournament, BUT.... literally could have easily lost any of those 3 games. Remember Spangler's missed layup for an example? Then we get upset by UAB. All this under Hoiberg. Oh by the way....Hoiberg lost to Baylor at home last year, too. Have you forgot that one? Haven't felt we were ever better than last year's team. It had Hogue and Naz. Now compare that to Burton and Cooke. Really think we were overranked from the get-go. Nobody's fault, but probably premature when we weren't able to fill out a roster, plus losing Naz.

I think it is a good thing that the team admits the other team played harder. All teams need a learning moment and decide they aren't going to accept losing. The greatest Iowa state team of all time lost to a terrible drake team. Baylor puts post player after post player in the NBA. They looked much thicker than Iowa state and pushed everyone around. Prohm criticism is ridiculous. When Eusatchy took over for Floyd many players were upset about Floyd leaving. Fizer considered transferring. There was a moment when Larry was ****** at Marcus in the Iowa game and sat him down for the long term benefit of the team and Marcus. It took a year of players to buy in to larrys system. And the next year magic happened. This team can't lose a year because everyone is a senior. Coach Prohm must be nice and everybody's best friend. If somebody quits because of the coach Iowa state is totally screwed.

Let's hope this ends up like the 96-97 team. Very highly ranked to start, dropped a bunch, then came on in the tourney, last layup against UCLA notwithstanding.

Motley was 13-15 from floor and had double digit rebounds. Medford was 4-5 from 3 with 11 assists. That's all you need to see to know why we lost...

Exactly. McKay didn't stop Motley and Morris/Thomas not stopping Medford. (Medford did make at least one contested three). Plus Morris trying to be the hero; don't care that he made a couple of 3s at the end. The game was already over after Morris missed a 3 shots and had a bad turnover.

If only they had you to get off your couch and save the day. Oh wait, you are a loser so that wouldn't happen.
