If you looked at this site today, it sure seemed like there was a larger majority of Cyclone fans willing to unite behind the overall good fortune of the Panthers today than our own team towards the end of the season.

Just my observation, but it's odd seeing our fans take more joy in a Northern Iowa win than Iowa State wins, including the K-State win.

And every fan of every other team in the country (with the obvious exception of KU fans) were more than likely just as caught up in that game. I guess Cyclone fans care more about Cornell and St. Marys as well, its the most exciting time in all of sports dont be shocked to see people getting wrapped up in games they usually wouldn't. It also didnt hurt from an ISU perspective that UNI happened to be playing one of the most hated programs in our conference.

I don't recall saying anything about this.......only stating those teams were better than what UNI has had thus far. We did what we did in the freaking Big XII as opposed to dominating the Valley.

He didn't say uni's year is better than any of ours. He said close to as good as ours....debate that if you want, but he didn't make a definitive statement.

It makes me ill that Northern Iowa, which was lucky to beat us this year has just had a season close to better than any ISU season in history. I just can't say that I'm happy. Being an ISU fan I'm always for the underdog, but in this case it just feels more like a kick in the nuts.

not me, I can't stand UNI and hope they get pasted. I also hope that Jacobson gets hired and UNI is able to beg McDermott to come back. UNI is just Hawkeye fans in purple.

Not at all. The UNI fans that actually go to games are UNI fans through and through. A bunch of "Hawk fans in purple" arent making the trip to St. Louis, and I can guarantee there will be a good showing of Panthers. The Panther fans that showed up at Kinnick this past fall werent Hawk fans in disguise, they truly believed that UNI could beat Iowa and wanted them to. Stop bein a sour puss. You should be proud of your little brother's tourney success as it is taking away the focus of ISU's more than dismal season.

No the KSU win felt better. I'm happy for UNI though, it was a fun game to watch in the Tucson airport with a few Kansas fans melting down.

I have to largely agree with this. My brother graduated from UNI, yet he cheers for the Hucks when they play them.
