I was at the Northwestern game and in the timeouts McDermott looked lost in the huddle in the 2nd half and couldn't figure out that we were not making shots for 12 minutes and wasn't smart enough to pound the ball inside when Northwestern was in the double bonus the last 6 minutes. Nor could he set up a decent inbounds play for a three in the last 8 seconds when he used two time outs to get a shot to our 4th or 5th best three point shooter to try and win the game. Tonight he can't get any touches to Brackins, we can't rebound and we have the superior athletes which I think comes down to poor coaching coming from a coach who was a big man at UNI. We get one shot and done no offensive rebounds.

Could someone please explain to DG that he is always open because everyone knows he shoots 10% from 3-point range!!! Why does he take a 3 with 20 seconds on the shot clock when Brackins hasn't even touched the ball....STUPID!!!!

While part of me want to agree - I really hate the idea of going back to the mindset of saying 'let's give the new guy 3 years'. We've done that time, I think we have to ride this out - let's just hope he can polish these guys up some how.
