What is the deal with CAC? I will be a student next year and have always admired the student section. Can someone explain the issue? TIA
Cyclone Alley Central - student leadership of the student section.
They order props, sell shirts, get signs and stuff, organize road trips, games during time outs, ect.
They were ok at first... then a handful of people got ahold of it and did some damage (not that I have a personal beef with one of those guys or anything), and really just killed things.
Part of the problem is they are/were in good with the Alumni Association (a student portion of it) and a little with the Athletics department, so when you have someone who is trying to network trying to run things, CAC becomes your personal inside connection to things.
Again I'm a little biased because of one person, but the general effect has been the student section is less rowdy now, more controlled, and it's harder to fill.
You need to join CA if you want to sit in the student section, or borrow a shirt. They should just hand out the shirt, then require you to wear a red shirt to be in the student section. It's a nice thought to make the whole section the same color, I really like it, but it doesn't allow for the occasional fans to make it, and the dedicated fans can't always be there.
I've been gone for 2 years so dont' take my ranting and raving as final word, as some things can change and some people can leave, but some how a group that was ment to inspire creativity found a way to stifle it
