ISU vs UConn Preview

Awesome of course.

I think speeding up UConn is a major key. And attacking the offensive glass. It would make sense that we would be more aggressive on the offensive glass against teams that play at a slower pace, but I don't see anything in the season results that would back that up statistically.

Speeding them up will be tough but if ISU can force some missed shots and get some run outs that will be a huge help.
 
Who does Edozie guard if Brimah isn't in? Giffey? Daniels? I say Giffey as the footage I've seen he is not much of a driver.

Also, about this "decisively UCONN crowd"- The Nova game was played in Buffalo and yes there were some UCONN fans, but not that many. Are we assuming they have a bunch of bandwagoners that will join up just because it's the Sweet 16?
 
Great Stuff I liked your comment from kxno today. We are undefeated wearing white jersey's since the loss to Texas 2 years ago in big 12 tourney and this undefeated streak in white started with the ncaa win over Uconn 2 years ago.
 
Great breakdown and study of UConn. Hope you are right about the winning part. We will need to play lock-down defense. I have lots of confidence in the defensive adjustments right now.

Buffalo is a 7 hour drive from the center of CT. New York is a two hour drive with mass transit.

MSG is a symbolic icon of the conference that was dissolved with realignment. It's a church. It's as much of a draw for UConn fans as being in the sweet 16.

The fact that it's a sweet 16 game helps.

I liked the write up, my only (minor) contention is calling that Florida squad undermanned. Wilbeken played 35 min in that game (same as bazz) and Florida scored on every single possession after he left the game. Their starting lineup was largely in tact.

My bad there. I was thinking that was one of the games that Wilbeken missed. But that was their game with Wisconsin I was thinking of.
