ISU vs Iowa

Iowa fans are sour about this? That's weird. GameDay wouldn't be there if it wasn't vs. Iowa.

The best thing about hok fans, especially ones that post on Cyclone websites, is that they are the farthest thing from doosh bags that a person can get.

Been thinking and do not recall being around an actual Hawk alumni that acted like a complete dickhead to me about ISU. Now, the resident tavern Hawks, totes different story. Going to be at HS reunion this Saturday (damn their planning) and will likely hear an earful even though I know at least nine classmates who attended ISU and cannot for the life of me ID a single classmate that went to Iowa and i know there had to be a least a couple.

I have seen Iowa fans mentioning "Lames" (as well as a reference to "cow college" but again ANF).

But whether I agree with the bolded or not depends on how you mean it. It seems like plenty of Iowa fans who are saying this are acting like they are Clemson or Alabama and that Gameday is coming because they want to see Iowa play. And that's not true. Iowa isn't that good.

I would agree that gameday was more likely to come to Iowa State because it's a rivalry game. I think it's possible gameday would have come if it was a different team with the same ranking , but less likely. In that sense, yes Iowa helped bring gameday to Iowa State.

That was my point. In-state rivalry vs. ranked in-state rival is the reason it's happening. I don't think unranked ISU vs. #19 Big 12 opponent brings Gameday.

And I think that's a reasonable take. However, plenty of Iowa fans don't mean it that way and it's fair to point out that those fans are idiotic ********.

Spread just opened ISU -1.5

Wow... crazy isn't it.

To think that one team is ranked, and has all the best talent at nearly every position (according to Hok fans on here).... and the other team isn't even ranked and has no talent..... how could the non ranked team be favored?? Strange.

Agreed. Just looking at the schedule pre-season we all knew it was going to be either ranked UI/ISU or UT/ISU. They've been looking for a reason to come to Ames. The single biggest reason they're coming is what Maryland did to Syracuse not what UI has done (beside being ranked).

I wish they weren't coming Saturday. The ISU-Texas matchup later in the year would have been 10x better, and a MUCH more meaningful game.

Just the number of drunken d-bag Hok fans that will be in Ames now next weekend makes me want to throw up. Hey families.... do NOT bring your kids to this. I brought my kid to an ISU-Iowa game in Ames once and never did again. While standing in line with my son for the restroom, my son learned a bunch of new words that some drunk Hok fans were yelling at us. That's never happened at game against any other team in my life while attending games at ISU.

In IC once I had full beer cans thrown at me, but I guessed I deserved it since I had ISU gear on in IC, right? o_O
