Worst part is that it is in the scouting report on ISU now. So we get to relive it over and over as teams game plan for the Clones.

Yup. Pretty easy to figure out.

60% of our league is shooting damn near 50% from deep against us. This is not "teams will cool off" this is terrible defense.

I don't have time to do the research, but I'm assuming that the numbers in the B12% column including all conference games, including Iowa State. Meaning that if you instead separated this into two columns - 3pt% vs. Iowa State and 3pt% vs. Other (non-ISU) Big 12 teams, the gap would be even bigger.

TLDR: ISU's opponents' 3pt% is probably actually even better against their average than what this chart shows.

That is some BAD math. 6 out of 15 games have been over 40% (saying 40%+ is "damn near 50%" is a stretch). 5 out of 15 have shot 33% or worse.

People? How about the coaching staff?

I'm sure Fred Hoiberg knows more about basketball than any of us. He runs an offense design to create spacing and mismatches, and it embraces the returns from three-pointers rather than rejecting it as a gimmick like many did in basketball in the 80s and 90s.

I'm sure he's just as aware teams are going to try to do the same thing back to us, however. Given the size/speed mixture on the roster, he's built a very successful and amiable system. But it's got it's weaknesses, and the need to double low/poor rotations out of it hurt us greatly there.

I'm sure he's doing everything he can himself to learn the Xs and Os of improving those rotations (and I'm sure he watches more Hawks, Warriors, and Spurs basketball than any of us, for that matter) and his best to teach it to a bunch of college students.
