I'm not overly confident about this game, either, and mostly for what has been mentioned above:
We haven't looked like world beaters, and Iowa has looked better than we have. If we can shoot the 3 and play strong defense, we have a shot. I'd feel much better if this were in Ames.

People here do it in every sport. So many see "Iowa" and assume we're facing a superteam.
Wish I was better at adding pictures - looks a lot like my mom - she helped Slater win state tournament in 1950-only 1 dribble allowed!
Be a good win - but it is not just the I-O-W-A on the uniforms it's past history at H-Carver that we need to overcome.
This could be a big factor. A full healthy lineup is vital. In two recent losses there we were without Moody and the team had the flu.
It was Poppins we were without in 2012. Our guards turned it over a thousand times and we shot "turrible" . Plus we were in the middle of all of the internal teammates BS that was going on at the time.

Mansfield had 16; only one in double figures. Kelly Krei made 5 3pt for UI, Morgan Johnson had 16/10/4 blk.
2012 (L, 42-50): 26.3% FG, 7-34 3PT, 21 TO, outscored by 11 at FT line

It all comes down to ISU playing its game. If we are salty on defense, rebound, and follow the "make more free throws than the opponent shoots" mantra we should be ok. If you look at past history we've been killed on the line. I'm also concerned with the drop in our free throw percentage this year. Its been strange. We have to be good inside and out. Its going to take ball movement and attacking the basket. Getting Iowa's bigs or guards in foul trouble would be ideal.
I've got two extras to the game tonight - well two adult and two youth tickets. Youth tickets were free. If anyone wants them.
In 2012, Moody didn't start as punishment for being late to class. With her on the bench, Iowa scored the first 14 points of the game.

Love it or hate it, it's interesting that this is the first game ever where the "road" school can win the HyVee CyHawk trophy challenge thing. Kind of invalidates that it's automatic the team with most games at home will win every time.
