Just ran into this picture on Twitter and was really proud to see ISU in the top 10. Especially since that was a very tough stretch for investments. Note fiscal year 2022 was through 6/30/22, so a few months old.

Lastly, wish I had the source, but picture or post didn’t mention it.

This is what happens when you make an accountant your athletic director.

surprised that Michigan endowment ($17.3B) is so much more than Ohio State ($2.6B). Both have huge enrollments and medical/law schools. Obviously Michigan is considered a much better educational institution, but that is some serious coin. Heck OSU is only 2x ISU.

Lots of ag schools on the list for this year. I wonder if farmland price increases are a factor.
Don't know whether University farms are included in endowment numbers or how many other real estate holdings there might be.

Wiki shows OSU at $7B for endowment. Is the $2.6B chart number in OP something different?

Agree with everything the OP said. Good return for a tough year.

What’s more important is how well we’re doing in normal years, and just anecdotally from peeking at this over the years we’re getting lapped in many cases. It wasn’t long ago that Iowa’s endowment was very near ours.
