Isn't it time for the coaches to give up on Cali and TX recruits for sb and start winning some games??? Recruit the midwest and local players! Maybe time for change? Or who cares?

I care. About time we get a program that doesn't consistently get blown out of games. And they're only getting worse.
look at the girsl pitching at missouri and wisconsin If your going to lose at least play someone that can garner some local support look at our girls bb.
Agreed. From my understanding we didn't even look at the Darrah girl. Complete miss on her and Thomas.
Iowa didn't look at Cassandra either. I was tickled to death when She out-pitched both of Iowa's pitchers last weekend, throwing three complete games (won two, and was undone by poor defense in the loss). How can all the in-state schools have missed on these two?
Hard for us to compete in B12 no matter who we get. Even with new facilities, we are still behind many in conference (no idea about new conference mates, haven't seen their facilities). Weather works against us. Need indoor training facility for off-season if we want to finish in top half. But hard to justify the financial committment needed with so many obstacles in our way.
You are correct, didn't recruit either of them. There are lots of very good softball players in the state of Iowa, seems like this staff doesn't pursue them very hard.
Head coach is a joke. The lack of communication is terrible. Kids have zero guidance and their practices aren't structured. Never seen such horrid defense in my life either.

correct, I got to watch them practice a couple times and it wasn't very serious (going through the motions, etc.)
I've been following the team for 10 years now - used to think it was Coach Crowe, who was the problem. Current coach hasn't brought any more success. It's easy to blame the climate on our problems, but northern teams have had success. e.g. Michigan, DePaul, and (yuck) Iowa. The one thing about the current staff has been consistently lousy pitching. Oh well, I'll keep hoping for better days ahead.
They did recruit Chelsea. ISU offered a 75% scholarship. But that was even after they knew Mizzou had offered a full ride.
75%? That's ridiculous, how could they not offer a full ride to a pitcher of that caliber?
This. If that is how good ISU is at evaluating talent, we deserve everything we've gotten for recent results.
It's easy because it's true. Look through historical champions. My guess is that warm weather (california, arizona, texas?) teams DOMINATE. The teams you mention play against other northern teams. We don't.
They have MUCH better weather to train in. And better indoor facilities when the weather isn't good. Our girls train at Rec Center.
Like bringing a knife to a gun fight. Just outmatched.
