Rahshon deserves a lot better than he witnessed during his four years here. To stick around like he did, and to do everything asked of him, it's a shame that his career is going to end on one of the worst ISU teams in years.

We've already got more wins than the 01-02 team so it won't be the worst team. Definitely not very good though.
 
If you are a guard, and one, your team is not a good perimeter shooting team, two, your team does not create opportunities off the dribble, and three, your team is not consistent at posting up, your chances of putting up assists may be a challenge at times.

Room for improvement all around! Go Cyclones!

That is very true, but I find it weird that Rahshon has 2 while Petey only 1 and DG none. If he can get them the ball than they should be able to too, especially when they handle the ball a lot more than Rahshon does.

I don't know if it's selfishness or just plain bad basketball IQ, but if there are two/three people on you, one/two of your teammates is open. Sorry...Just had to rant. I'm getting really tired of watching these games.

I completely agree.. right now our only idea of "offense" is having one of our PG's throw it into Jiri, Brackins, or Thompson, who are posting up 10 feet away from the basket. We definitely need a LOT more movement, and considering the fact that our PG's can't create ANYTHING off the dribble (except occassionally DG), we need to get the ball passed around a TON more.

Heck, look at past games, or even against Texas... our most successful offensive possessions occurred when we ran either a pick-and-roll or a give-and-go!

And what do those two have in common? Movement!

So c'mon, guys! Move yourselves, and that ball around! Run give-and-go's, pick-and-rolls, drive and kick, off the ball screens! Maybe even a high-low with the post players! Something!!

I try to remind people I work with that it's never quite as bad as it looks when we're disappointed or discouraged. Sure, it looks bad, and when it looks bad, it's hard to see the signs of growth (when they do happen) and the potential that's there. Potential isn't a guarantee, but there is potential out there. Be patient, folks. Give it time.

Just think what it would be like without Jiri in the lineup. He scored 23 last night and is the leading rebounder.
 
Reid Gettys doesn't know as much as he thinks he does, (that would make him smarter than Einstien) but he said some things last night that are very true. (1) Brakins shys away from contact. He need to get aggressive. (2) Lucca Staiger is an exceptional 3 pt shooter.
(3) McDermott has done an outstanding job of coaching considering the adversity this team has endured. All coments paraphrased. One play in the second half, Garrett drives past his man,lays it in, and gets fouled, makes the free throw. Hubalek is wide open,10 ft from the basket, and Garrett ignores him. Gettys says, "He should have dropped the ball off to Hubalek. He (Garrett) will hear about that from McDermott." I just added this comment to show you that Gettys doesn't know as much as he thinks he does.

I'm with you...Gettys said some stuff that showed he knows the Big 12 and the Cyclones. But when Garrett drove and made the three point play, his comment didn't make sense to me. Sure Jiri may have been open, but DG is such a good penetrator, and that's what we need.

Plus, I didn't think the replay showed Crocker push off on Rahshon on that put-back, and Gettys was adamant about that. Maybe he had a better angle, but it looked like the ball came off just a little different than Rahshon planned on his jump, and went to Crocker while Rahshon was up in the air and slightly out of position, resulting in an easy put-back.
 
Anyone know why there were so many empty seats at the Oklahoma game last night? That placed was dead in the first half. Couldn't believe it.

No surprise. Wed nights the WB airs old episodes of Bonanza.
 
OU fans are the Hawk fans of Oklahoma. They hardly ever pack that place, especially on a weeknight against a crappy team.
 
We are not going to win too many games if our team continues to let people drive baseline, not block out, go up strong, or drive to the basket instead of settling for long jump shots. Brackins nees to take it to the hole more often. They remind me of the Bulls this year. I am disappointed that our team continues to fail in these areas.
