ISU @ Oklahoma Postgame Thread

You seriously don't think we're a better team at Hilton? Minus the A&M game, we have been a solid team at home. On the road, we look like the season just started.

We are better at home, yes, but who isn't? I can think of at least 3 examples were we stunk at home:

A&M, UNI, & Minnesota for starters.

I would also throw in the last 5 minutes of regulation and OT against Texas too.

Who have we beat at Hilton this year that makes you think we "solid"?

This team just doesnt have the athletes yet that can play D. When you play 2 freshmen, 2 sophmores, 3 jrs (all walk-ons), and 2 srs what do you expect. This team isnt strong or physical anywhere. There is no way this team can double team anyone due to the fact most are not quick enough to recover. They need scorers as well to open things up.

The team looked tierd tonight. They are having a rough streach and they play with a short bench.

Whats does it say about ISU when no one shows up to watch them play on the road?

Did anyone else watch the game and think to themself, I wonder how dirty that program is? Since all the new stuff on Samson just came out.

Reality is this team will continue to have problems next year without some brilliant big man find and a revelation in the guard court.

We don't have an inside game....or outside game. No one can create their own shot. Jiri and Wesley will have to score 30 apiece to win any games.

I do agree with what you said, but to me it doesn't even look like we're running an offense. Yes, you need to have players create their own shot, but there still needs to be some type of movement somewhere for that to happen. We have NONE. Everyone just stands around watching the guards dribble 10 feet outside the three point line until the shot clock runs down. Where are the screens? Where are the cuts?

I am sorry, but I don't by the "we have a young team" excuse anymore. Look at what Purdue is doing and they start 4 freshman. I know people will say they are in the big 10, but still, wins over Wissy and Mich St. are impressive. The difference between their freshman and ours? Theirs learn from their mistakes, where Brackins takes the same poor 3 point shot AT LEAST once a game...

Don't need a brilliant big man find or a revelation, just normal improvement from Craig and Diante. Weight room work for both, and I'm guessing GMac will be spending as much time with Brack in the low post this off season as he did with Jiri two years ago.

Remember, the best thing about freshmen is that they become sophomores.

I lack to see playing / coaching to our strengths. Just seeing more of the same is tiring to watch.

I'll also say there were several bad calls during a span where ISU was down by 6-8 points with 6-8 minutes left in the game. Had they been called correctly I think we may have had a better chance to win but still would have come up short.

They will both be better next year I agree. I have more hope for DG handling PG at a level we need than I do CB holding up in the post. We need a banger.

I totally agree. This was probably the worst officiated game I've seen all year. That dunk by Brackins with the no foul was ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE, but I am sick of using the refs as a crutch. At some point we have to step up and actually run an offence!

Man, I just really want ISU to have a year where they are good again....
