So we lost....no big deal. We knew this team would lose at times this this year. I think what makes it so disheartening is that we just got murdered today. Harldy any moral victories or anything positive to take from the game. We weren't even competitive. Yes, Iowa is a top 10 team.....but today's performance just confirmed to all of us in Cyclone nation just how far..far...far we are from being a contender on the national scene.

Our only chance to win games is against other programs that are in the same boat. Any team that can actually be competitive with these top 10 schools (I'm saying competitive....not necessarily victorious) is gonna smoke us

Ya, our talent level is no where near good enough to be considered seriously for the conference race, let along the NC. We probably have one player drafted every couple of years and that is typically 3rd round or later. To be a good BCS league team, you should average 3-4 players drafted every year and to be a NC title contender, you probably need to average 5-6 drafted every year. Iowa consistently has 3-4 drafted and a couple free agents every year. I would imagine that they have 3-4 x the amount of players on NFL rosters as we have.

You can see why they win January Bowl games and we usually don't bowl.
