ISU Media Day (8/1/2019)

I think you are remembering that game a little differently then me. Yeah it ended 42-24, but if it wasn't for the defense with 2 picks sixes, ISU goes into halftime down 10-7.
Pick sixes are a two edged sword. When you defense gets two of them in a half, that means there are two possessions that your offense didn't get so you have to think that your offense won't do nearly as much.

I am remembering it differently than you.

ISU was in complete control of that game. Wasn’t it 42-7 or 42-14 until the dogs got called off late?

Wasn't Media Day a bigger deal in the past? I recall it being more of an all-day event with lots of interviews with players and coaches, not just a press conference with Campbell. Am I remembering another event that happens later in the summer?

That was today. Probably about 3 hours total. Same as every other year.

But hasn't CycloneTV done special progamming all day in the past? Today was just the press conference (and replays of the press conference).

I also thought it was odd that there seemed to be no live CyclonesTV interviews today.

Campbell said in his final year at Toledo they ran two-tight sets something like 70 percent of the time, so it's not foreign to them.

Look back at my posts...I told you these days were coming. :) If they are ready, it will be smash mouth football try to stop us here we come.;)

That is true, but the offense still sucked in the first half.

It did, but even if those were just interceptions, the offense would have had the ball in FG range without running a play. To say that ISU wouldn't have scored a point with Lazard, Butler and Montgomery on the team, not to mention a decent Kicker, is pretty glass half empty. I mean, even if the picks were dropped, ISU would have likely had two more offensive possessions in good field position.

Campbell didn't offer that tidbit about Easton Dean taking some reps at TE. One of the reporters asked about it. Made me wonder whether it was out-of-line for him to ask based on what until now has not been public knowledge.

Campbell had a great response saying that he has been known to "tinker" and try to strengthen the lineup, particularly with someone as big and athletic as Easton Dean.
It has been known for a week or two already.

Man I hope so. Can't wait to see Dylan Soehner dozing Mfers over out of the back field

It might even get a particular former Toledo player and dad to make a trip to Ames. Disprove the phantom rumors.
