These threads always go this way.

1. Maybe it wasn't him or maybe he didn't do it.
2. It's starting to look like he did it.
3. Assuming he did it, he needs to be kicked off.
4. We're keeping him w/a game suspsension. As long as PR is ok with it, I am too.

Yeah, and its always the same mob with pitchforks who immediately want a guy kicked off the team for any crime. For christs sakes, we usually have posters saying players should be booted for something minor like possession of pot or getting an OWI.

If its true, bet he gets suspended for a game or two.

OWI is NOT something minor.

I agree with everything except the OWI thing.

No and yes. Terrible idea. Having said that I doubt he does substantial time.

It's hard to tell if it comes down to a trial. A guy could luck out and be walk away like Sam Mack or he could end up with a Hawk Fan judge like Berryman did. I'm not sure if I agree with the outcomes of either of these cases based on the information that was made public.

New details from the Ames Trib:

"Cmdr. Mike Brennan said the case started July 17 when a woman from Des Moines reported that her son had taken her credit card with him to Ames the night before.

According to police records, the card reportedly was stolen from the son at some point and subsequently used at several Ames-area businesses.

The woman said she had already contacted the businesses before she called the police, and that they had already pulled surveillance tapes to be examined by investigators.

The warrant on Sims’ apartment came days later. Police are not commenting on what was recovered during their search.

Brennan said the matter had been turned over to the Story County Attorney’s Office for consideration and possible charges."

"stolen" or the kid left it somewhere?

Would it matter? Honest question?

They still used a card that wasn't theirs.

Wouldn't that be akin to driving someone else's car just because the key is in it, versus hotwiring it?

I'd agree, but I'm waiting to hear the PD or CA say his name in this.

That's a good point. It's a whole new world of credit card usage. Using someone else's card might not be that difficult.

But what about the part when you sign the little electronic thing? How does a guy pull that off with a woman's name on the card?

Look, I just forged your signature and I don't even know your last name. That's how it usually comes off on those electronic screens, and the clerk may or may not even glance at it anyways.

I'm too stupid to post the image correctly, but you get the idea.

Oh, and better be careful not to lose your credit card anytime soon, your signature is now out there on the internet.

They don't even check anymore, use my wife's cards all the time, have never been asked even once in 4 years. People are really bad at checking at doing their jobs these days.
