Underage gambling. I don't think anyone's facing any jailtime or anything major but it adds a layer to the mess. Are they though? What Iowa law did they break?

If they used other people's IDs (parents, etc) to gamble, that's probably illegal as well.Yeah I doubt there are any criminal charges for that.
5. Gambling violations.
a. For violations of legal age for gambling wagering under section 99D.11, subsection 7, section 99F.9, subsection 5, and section 725.19, subsection 1, the scheduled fine is six hundred forty-five dollars. Failure to pay the fine by a person under the age of eighteen shall not result in the person being detained in a secure facility.
b. For legal age violations for entering or attempting to enter a facility under section 99F.9, subsection 6, the scheduled fine is six hundred forty-five dollars. Failure to pay the fine by a person under the age of eighteen shall not result in the person being detained in a secure facility.
It's basically a expensive parking ticket.
Is Essex still around? I thought he was being talked about at some point last year but haven’t followed closely.
Only at ISU would 5 players out of like 100 total be involved in this gambling thing…. and all 5 just happen to be key starters on both sides of the ball.
It couldn’t be 5 guys that never see the field. That would happen at Alabama.
It’s Dom time baby! He’s gonna be an absolute studLosing Lee will hurt worse than the two you listed above IMO.

Sanders looks great in open space (see Iowa game a couple years ago, catching out of the backfield), but we never use him in that way for some reason. I think Harris will have a really good season and pass Sanders on the depth chart. Also, it will be cool to see what Norton does now that he is back at full health. Even if we don't have Brock, this RB group is solid. Their success will depend on the o-line.Maybe there's a bit of a reset and we actually see some real growth this season including unknowns emerging into something.
I'm also hoping to see more from Eli Sanders. I swear there's some ability there.

The success of the entire offense will depend on the success of the OL.
With a good OL…. I’m not worried about our RB’s, TE’s, or WR’s at all. I’ll still be very worried about the QB position though.
The thing is, ISU has never had an OL so dominant that it made the game so easy that the talent at the skill positions wasn’t critical. And realistically, it won’t happen this season. With a good OL I'm not worried about any other position being effective. The passing game takes care of itself to play off of the run.
Football can and should be really simple when the line works.

If we want to be successful, we are going to need our skill position players to step up and make plays. RB, QB, WR, TE - we need guys to take a major step forward at every position.
