ISU fans left an impression

The title of his article says it all.....

"Iowa State proves it's best team, in best conference, with Big 12 title win."
 
Between that and Dana O'neill's story at ESPN, we got a lot of love last night.

But in all honesty, this is the kind of love that we've been getting nationally for the past 5 year. How many stories have been written by national media about Fred being calm, Fred pushing the tempo, Fred coaching the game the way it should be played, Fred's players loving him? Too many stories to count.

This is yet another reason why this is the golden age of Iowa State basketball. Never before have we been such a relevant topic nationally.
 
Man, the uninterested arrogance of internet KU fans has gotten really sad. They don't seem to have any self awareness at all. Not a good look for them.

Oh I bet KU fans got upset over that game. Enough to throw their penny loafers at the TV.

Yes. The media LOVE Fred and the style of basketball he coaches, so the media love us. We are so damn lucky that Fred grew up in Ames, got involved with Johnny's program, came to ISU, became the Mayer, played in the NBA, and that Jamie hired him as head coach.

Love that KU fans hold against us that Fred hasn't gotten us to a final four yet or big 12 regular season title yet like it's something he should have done by now. He is only in year 5 and took over a dumpster fire while improving each and every one of those 5 years.
 
No doubt about it, this one burns for Kansas. They know they didn't win the conference this year, we gave it away. Winning the rubber match, not only on the court, but in the stands sends a strong message to Kansas. There was a point last night where we were dominating them. Scoring at will and Kansas could not find the paint to save their lives. This one was HUGE. It's great to be a Cyclone.
 
Saw Ku fans dancing and laughing as they walked out of the stadium... Really overly trying to look happy. Pretty pathetic
 
"Up with Steve Kornacki" is a opinion show on MSNBC and the last segment had on four sports guys talking March Madness. The first two teams brought up were UNI and Iowa State as contenders to do big things in the tourney. There were only seven teams total mentioned.

Great article. Love this quote...."I don't know how in the world they can get 10,000 people in this building and have 5,000 waiting to get in who can't get in,” Self said.
