He has beat Utah State this year. That is a good win. Outside of that his other 6 conference wins are against teams with a combined conference record of 8-42. He has no good non con wins so at the moment it's Utah State to go on.
I have not watched a ton of MWC basketball this year. But if last night's game was any indication of what is par for the course, then it truly is on the same level as the MVC. I used to think MWC>MVC

Like I have said in other threads, one of my kids former high school classmates plays in that league so we have had a bit of interest. Your thinking is correct. Although they have some good teams on the top....it really falls off once you get toward the middle of the pack. And the last three are teams ISU would beat. So no, it's nothing to write home about.

And for those stating he has only been there 2 years and it takes time..........okay, then he can stay right there and take his time.

In terms of coaches I don't know why we wouldn't take a long term assistant at a good program. Why not Jerome Tang at Baylor. I think his upside exceeds most options here. He will likely have options at the end of the season. I would hope guys like that are considered. Drew has proven to be a very good coach, and Tang has been learning what it takes to coach successfully under Drew for well over a decade.

And on that note I think another assistant to take a long look at is Kyle Neptune of Villanova. Maybe not a great geographic fit, but he's been a big part of a championship winning program.

The Randy - Les interviews would be something

The TJ angst is ******* hilarious. Keep it up. When do we start talking **** about his wife?

I'll talk about his wife. She was an awesome player at ISU! Is there more to be said?

Wait, is she a candidate to be an assistant on TJ's staff if he comes? In that case, I guess we better start talking about lack of coaching experience . . . .

I seriously want ISU to make a play and go after Rick Pitino. I hope he is at least contacted or considered. I don't think it would cost ISU too much either as he would have a major interest in getting back to the P6. Not to mention the Big 12 has some great coaching all over the league. It would interest him IMO.

The dude can coach. Is he sketchy as hell? Oh yeah. But he can flat out coach, recruit and most importantly, he wins. (Ask KU. Is Self and KU sketchy as hell? F yeah they are and they are unapologetic about it. This is a coach that could turn it around quickly. It's all about W's and ISU needs to get back in the business of winning.)

At Iona:
However, a source said Pitino agreed to a five-year pact for slightly less per year than Cluess, who made approximately $1.1 million. Mar 14, 2020
