ISU Apparel deal?

Wow, we are all suddenly in grade school again!
First, on a recent issue - I'm cheap... I've tried to avoid big name brands, even in cyclone gear and often you get mediocre stuff, not always. I definitely dont pay 80 bucks for my Cyclone gear though either, God bless those who can.
On the name issue specifically - go with the combo of more cash and more popularity amongst 18 year olds, possibly leaning toward the latter. If Nike is actually still king, so be it, but I don't care what a bunch of old fans want (including me)
My anecdotal evidence is as others here, UA is big with the youngins. The extent to which nike is represented seems more about availability than preference.

Totally hypothetical question since I doubt UA is beating down the door to sign ISU to a big deal, but what would have to happen if UA did offer a big contract? Is ISU legally obligated to stay with Nike or would ISU just have to buy out the remaining contract?

Can someone get a clarification on whether Pollard thinks we have a great deal or not on the contract ending in June 2018. If we don't, can't believe we (ISU/new apparel company) we can't be creative and buy our way out. Too much mamsy pamsy from ISU.

Exactly, the buyout can't be that much for a contract of that size

I have both UA and Nike ISU gear, and prefer the UA.

It seems like the UA apparel is more of a slimmer/athletic cut: I think Nike is aimed at a wider audience

I'm not sure why I should pay a premium for apparel that makes me a walking billboard for their brand. If it is a high quality product and has a small tasteful logo, no big deal. But why should I pay twice what a garment is worth and then have it plastered with a huge logo across the front. They should be paying me to wear that.

Most of UA's team apparel has a small logo.

I'm one of the older guys on here and I don't really care who the brand is. If it's Nike, they better come up with a much larger amount of money, or try to get in with UA. The article says what recruits like. If the recruits like the newer, flashier uniforms, then get newer, flashier uniforms.

I think it's funny that there are probably 25% on this board that thinks its redic to get alt flashy unis....looking at that graph, the players hate the traditional uniforms the most and love the "ugly" ones. Ill take some ugly unis.

Because I rarely wear tshirts and at 33, I'm too old to be wearing football jerseys around, so I prefer to wear my ISU polo when I'm going out to bar to watch their game and support my team?
