ISU -33 vs Kansas this weekend

Why does everyone think Kansas is better than last year?

They beat a garbage FCS team.
Got 40 pointed (at home) against Baylor.
Got rolled by a poor ACC team.
Got rolled by a G5 (albeit good team).

What gives you any reason to think they any better than what they put out last year.

They were 28 point dogs to Coastal Carolina for crying out loud... they aren't going to be less of an underdog on the road against ISU.

I think a lot of people want to think that a perennial 0-9 or 1-8 Big 12 team is way better than a bad MWC team. It really isn't. I know because when ISU was that bad we weren't better than most group of 5 teams and were worse than good FCS teams.

I would say Campbell would never run up the score, that's what I said for UNLV and I was right and very wrong.

He didn't run up the score, we just beat them down, so maybe will will cover.

I didn't think we'd cover at UNLV. I'm taking the cover now, but also the under at 57.5. They'll be fired up for a statement game. Breece is hitting his stride, and Oline should be better against KU than Baylor.

Agree with others. We have no idea how good or bad this ISU team is. If they keep making stupid mistakes they could lose to every team left on the schedule.

Well we certainly aren't 'better' than last year. In fact at this point we are worse than last year. We will beat Kansas, but doubful by 33+.

UNLV had their starting quarterback back against Fresno State - and I think - Fresno State was feeling themselves after beating UCLA.

Its also a league game so its a team that on paper UNLV matches up with better and I believe UNLV has had some of the better recruiting classes in MWC recently.

Kansas played with Coastal Carolina - not a Power 5 but a ranked opponent for a while before that crazy offense - which I love from afar but would hate to defend - took over.

Big betting lines get torpedoed by special teams plays all the time (playing from behind while giving a crapton of points).

Not covering would not shock me. I expect us to work on things, a lot of passing to find another receiving option, could we cover? With ease, but as usual, coaching staff is going to play the long game to get better for later in the year.

I watched most of the 2nd half of the Fresno/UNLV game and UNLV matched up a lot more favorably with them. Fresno was small in the trenches and at almost every position on D. UNLV gashed them even after their starting QB went out in the 3rd quarter and they put the kid in that started vs. ISU. UNLV's RB was going h.a.m. ripping off consistent large chunk yardage runs.

That said, in regards to this game, I think it's a git right game. Iowa State to cover, might even see a 50-burger
