ISR March to Madness thread

definitely would have to beat Illinois and Michigan back to back for any shot and that may not be enough. Lunardi's updated bracket is about as favorable as the Hawks could hope for realistically. Pulling Villanova as the 3 seed if you're the 2 would be a good break.

Villanova as the 3 and Oklahoma as the 6 is about as good as you could ask for if you are a 2 seed this season.

SDSU in the 2nd round is no walk in the park though. They can shoot it. Looking at that bracket I'd be pulling hard for Louisville to upset them.

My nightmare 2nd round is Oregon. I know pac 12 isn't great but a 20-5 power 5 conference champion that has been a consistent deep tournament threat should be nowhere near the 6 to 7 seed line. They seem to be way underseeded

You're right Wisconsin had so many fouls on them already (almost double Iowa's) that if they don't call that Wisconsin fouls and Iowa goes to the line instead of having to inbound the ball

Iowa got gifted TWICE on the jump ball call and you are calling it a screw job. Lol hi Bo!

Foul disparity happens all the time. Iowa wasn't gifted anything in the game, but as is usual there are calls that could have gone either way. For instance instead of an and 1 for Potter and a foul on Garza late, it could have been called a travel. The foul on Jordan on the 3 could have been a no call as well. Both went for the offensive players and each team got 3 points on the play. That is the way it goes in basketball.

Wisconsin had every chance to win that game as the refs gave them an extra shot at it by swallowing their whistles and let the fouls on Jordan go, and they gave Wisconsin the jump ball. Once again, as I said you get some calls others you don't. Either way, Wisconsin couldn't capitalize on the opportunities they were given, and Iowa did to earn a hard fought win.

Well that certainly changed lol

It is a cardinal sin really. You can't push a shooter like that 20-25' from the basket when he is shooting. That is going to get called 10 out of 10 times. Do it underneath the basket all day long, but that far out it is always a foul even in the Big10 and it's horrible refs.

Any foul could be a no call, do you watch basketball? The refs didn't have to call the foul, but they correctly did.

I noticed that Rutgers is currently a 10. I don't think Alabama would want anything to do with them as a 2nd round matchup. They are dangerous for a 10.

The sum seems to be lesser than the parts. I don't get them. I think them and Maryland are most likely to not win a game in the tournament from the conference

maybe true. Just seems like they should be able to match up well. They can play good defense.

Agreed they have talent and could very well be dangerous but for whatever reason they have not played consistent or up to their potential for really the whole season. I could see early exit or win a couple games with them
