I didn't watch much of Iowa-Indiana, but outside of the big plays, Iowa didn't do much, right? Sure, maybe they didn't have to since it was over as soon as it started, but I just don't see us ISU making those big mistakes. And I just don't think they can run the ball on us, and Petras isn't good enough to shoulder the game. ISU 20-Iowa 10.
. The surprising thing I got out of watching the first half was how bad the Indiana QB performed. I watched him last year before he got hurt and he was really good. It is obvious that how he goes is how Indiana goes. Iowa D is very good which is normal. Petrous looks average and that is maybe a compliment. I expect he will not have experienced a road game like what he will see on Saturday along with the pass rush/quality defense he will face. Lot’s of pressure on him. Turnovers will be a factor with two Top 10 defenses slugging it out. 17-10 Clones.I think every Hawk fan on the planet understood what the game plan for the 2nd half was going to be. Get a couple first downs each possession by running outside zone and then punt. Don't turn it over, don't give Indiana a short field and just get out of there with a win. So yeah Iowa didn't do anything for a whole 1/2 basically and still blew them out 34-6.
That isn’t true for me at all. If this game was in Kinnick with game day coming to Iowa City and a 3:30 kickoff, I would predict Iowa to win the game. The teams are pretty even, but I just don’t see Iowa overcoming game day, 3:30 start on the road in a hostile environment.
again, I didn't say the refs cost us the game. I said they can have an impact on a tight game and they fking absolutely did. How do you not see that? Calling a ghost hold that was NOT A HOLD AT ALL, and wiping out a first down in FG range impacted the outcome of the game. They didn't cost ISU the game, they were a contributing factor but no the only factor in a loss. The refs didn’t factor into that game at all. If you wanna be the “blame the refs” guy, by all means, be that guy.
I don't think Gameday coming to Ames helps ISU's chances at all.... in fact it hurts them. Creates WAY too much hype and adrenaline.... and way too many distractions.
I believe the last time Iowa was in the top 10 when we played them was 2005. Let’s just repeat that 23-3 beat down.

2019 game, the hawkeye next to me started complaining about the home cooking our refs were giving us. I just reminded him that they were big 10 refs. He shut up after that. One thing that has not been asked or brought up is, will we get a clean game from the Big 10 officials? In a tight game they can make a huge difference. In both the 2017 and 2019 the Big 10 refs helped Iowa in the final minutes. In 2017, right before Wadley broke loose, they missed a huge blatant offensive pass interference call against Iowa. If that is called, it's probably lights out for Iowa. In 2019, they called a ghost hold on Iowa State that nullified a first down in fg range with time left. They don't call that and we probably score a fg or td to win. It was a horrible call, for the life of me I can't see the hold. They also routinely let the Iowa d-backs arrive early in this game and don't call PI. Other say they miss Iowa holds, but I'm sure they missed plenty of ISU holds too.
something tells me it’s been a REALLY long couple years for you.again, I didn't say the refs cost us the game. I said they can have an impact on a tight game and they fking absolutely did.
