ever went to a movie and then talked about that movie with people who hasn't seen it yet?
ever bought a book and talked about it's main points with people who haven't read it?

are you stealing their livelihood by giving away premium content? it's the same exact thing.

edit. you can disagree. doesn't change the fact people talk.

Couple things:
1. Posting premium info is against site rules, so it starts and ends there anyway, but...
2. You're comparing an experience (watching a movie, reading a book) to a small piece of information that was posted behind a paywall for people that fork over cash for the info.

Even the podcast likely has sponsors.

He'd probably rather you drive his traffic numbers on that than post it here.

If, indeed, this information was from a free-but-ad-supported pod.

i'm not saying it's right to copy and paste info. i'm saying if a pay site says "Player X has committed to the Cyclones" then someone should be able to come here and say "it's been confirmed Player X has committed." you can't lock information or knowledge in a box.

if a person has the best scoops they should have a website that can charge more for ads because they know their scoops drive traffic. I don't pay for Bloomberg TV but I bet I could ask a friend with Bloomberg TV what their latest newscast said about the stock market. It's really the same thing.

I can confirm Stokes didn't commit to ISU

Is it illegal to post Premium info on CF? No

Is it unethical? Kinda?

But that's not the reason they discourage it on CF. They discourage it because Chris and the gang want to keep a good relationship with guys like Halsted. If someone came and posted every bit of premium info from other sites on CF, the owners of those premium sites would be ticked. They are losing money that way. So CF has the policy of not wanting us to repost that info.

Do you care if Halsted doesn't get a new subscriber to view his info? No. But that doesn't mean it's harmless either.

If I went and told my buddy at work something I saw on a Premium site, it's not the same as CF allowing us to post every bit of information we see on other sites here and taking money out of a pay sites pockets because thousands of Cyclone fans can then get the same info here for free.

Can people with inside knowledge rank what they think Stokes top 5 schools in order would be if he made his decision today. Would it be something like:

1-ISU
2-TCU
3-Tenn
4-Florida
5-UNC

No, but recruiting is fluid.

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. I subscribe to 247, and I much enjoy the information here at CF, a free site. Love 'em both. But, I'm not some grade school kid, who, for my own ego aggrandizement, is going to race between sites and say, "Guess what I just found out!"

Ask yourself why it is you -- personally -- are so eager to transport information from a fee site to a free site. You already know the information you've gained from the place you spend money, so if it is not for you own self-satisfaction and the ability to illuminate yourself in the eyes of others, why would you transport information that you do not own?

I do not do it because such information is not mine to distribute.
