This article is from July, but it is interesting. Stokes may have a lot of untapped potential now that he is focusing on basketball, not football.

Well, an "old man's game" in a 6' 9" 270 pound body is probably still a very effective game.
I hate to compare every recruit to our recent players, but he looks like Georges in an Alabama DT's body.
It is obnoxious to hear how recruit X looks similar to former ISU player X, but this is an appropriate time to use that correlation. We're fresh off of 4 years of Georges, so I think it shows just how similar their games are. A commit from Stokes would be huge.
This. That size alone would be the missing piece for this team the next couple of years. But adding a skilled big with that size, JUST GIVE US THE BANNER NOW
I would be quite satisfied if he turned into the second all-time leading scorer for the program.

that's how i read this and i will never be disappointed.
FWIW UNC has another 4 star post visiting there this weekend Garrison Brooks. Two ways to look at it. Roy is still targeting an additional big but Stokes isn't their only priority.

Found it interesting there was no mention of Stokes as target in the article though since he's suppose to visit this weekend.
North Carolina has two post commitments in its 2017 recruiting class - Brandon Huffman and Sterling Manley - and remains in content for hybrid forwards P.J. Washington, Jarred Vanderbilt and Kevin Knox.

Man...I really hope we get this kid now. He looks great. Really does look like a better put together, more athletic, less finess version of George's. he would be immediate impact.
I don't think he looks anything like Niang. He's clearly more athletic, and his jumper is much more smooth and comfortable.
Some would say it's a Georges-Esque recruitment.
If so, I hope that means that he will end up in the same place that Georges did (and I don't mean "with the Pacers").
