Is Lewis injured because

I think something is going on there behind the scenes. Maybe it's his work ethic. I know he alluded to that in the past he hadn't worked as hard but that this summer and fall it was his chance to change things. Maybe he never did. I think Jackson and Grill can be good 3 point shooters for this team. Just need more opportunities.

I've talked to a person semi-familiar with the program and has basically said Lewis is a head case. Some days he's on others he's off.

Edit: and by head case I mean on the court. Have heard zero things about his character and from what I've seen/heard he's a good kid.

***Hot Take Alert***

We are giving up 81.5 ppg to P5 teams. If defense is where he needs to improve, as Prohm indicated this summer, maybe we can say **** it because we’re gonna give up points and try and hit a few shots on offense, instead. We aren’t going to win many games giving up 81 points with this offense.

Michigan fans thought the exact same thing. Sometimes you just lose. Every loss doesn’t need to create a referendum on EVERYTHING
A referendum? Lol.
Context matters. It is nothing more than standard post-loss disappointment for a team that many felt bearish about even before the loss.

You don’t need to meltdown every game. Put your ear muffs on and go to your safe space.

You really can’t take anything from those games but when you lose, some people are obviously going to react to them. We almost lost to Tulane with Monte so they aren’t very good indicators. All I’m saying is based on the results this year against P5 schools, I completely understand why fans are freaking out. If you don’t understand why then you clearly aren’t watching the same team.

I think beating unranked power 5 schools is a reasonable expectation. When that doesn’t happen, I’m not surprised to see fans questioning things.

I'm surprised Michigan wasn't ranked but they probably will be.

I was encouraged that ISU hung with them a bit considering what I saw as a pretty big talent difference.

We might find out more tonight for if ISU can sustain some things although it's still really early.

The defense really isn't that great...I thought that was supposed to an emphasis but that was also the case the last two seasons.

I still think we're talking about unrealistic expectations. When we have a loaded and talented team and we drop a game I "kinda" get the kerfuffle, but this team isn't loaded nor nearly as talented as past teams. These kinda teams it's just more fun to watch the development rather than count wins and agonize over losses.

I see what you’re saying now. I agree that I don’t think this team is good enough to warrant meltdown threads. I hate to say it but I kinda expected to lose at Oregon State and against Michigan. My expectation going into the year was to make the tournament but I don’t think I can really see that happening right now. I think there’s a ton of winnable games in the Big 12 this year though so maybe it can still happen.

If they lose only one more non-con and get 10 wins in B12 play they'd be in...seems the B12 is improved at the top at least so we'll see.

I thought Okie State looked pretty good last night and they said they were picked 6th last night.

As long as the top 6 know that Coach P will only play 6, there will be absolutely no defense played at the rim or on a drive. Foul trouble is the only thing that benches this team.

They’d definitely be in, in that scenario. That would put them at 20-11. That’s going to be a pretty tall task though to get the through the non-conference with only 1 more loss. We still have Alabama, Seton Hall at least once, Iowa and at Auburn who looks good. We’d have some good non conference wins if we can escape with only 1 more loss. I think 10 conference wins is reasonable. Kansas State and TCU aren’t great and we can beat anybody at home. I thought Oklahoma State was a little underrated going into the year. They look good so far.
