Is Alex Thompson killing our recruiting?

please do come back Drew....any sage advice on any other players you wish to bestow upon us hypocrites?

or do you make a lot of noise and poof away like my lab's bum emissions?

It's actualy spelled hypocrite and as far as Haluska goes.... He did what he had to do. Just like AT... People transfer thats what happens... I transferred twice before I graduated... I'm way more pissed when a guy does something like Berryman and gets thrown off the team...

it will be very helpful for our bigs to have a skilled big to practice against all year, so i would take AT over an unproven frosh any day. remember, he will be here this year, just not playing in the games.

Thanks for being rational and not calling me names unlike some others who have nothing better to do then call me Drewberries and an ass.. At least you layed out why you want him here... I am cool with that reason.. I have my reason's for not wanting him here... Both are pretty good. I just don't like a guy who sells out his team to go play for a rivals whom he is supposed to hate..





For the rest of you people. Thanks for having a thought and calling me names. Show's how grown up you are. It's really easy to call someone an ass on the net and having no rational thought as to why you want a kid to play here that has hated our university the last 2 years.

Ahh, this is where you and I have a disconnect. You see ISU as America and Iowa as North Korea.



I guess that I don't actually hate and/or fear Iowa, so much as I consider it a fun rivalry. I actually have good friends that are Iowa fans. They are a bit flawed in this way, but ultimately good people. I don't have friends waving North Korean or Iranian flags.



Basketball players are not really tall soldiers. Transfering from Iowa to ISU (and vice/versa) is not the same as defecting to North Korea.

I don't take anything to personal.. I just think they are childish and proves you can't argue a point.



As far as Alex hating ISU. He should have. He played for the Hawks. Anytime you play against someone you should pretty much have distaste for you rivals. You should hate your rival. How do you think the greats become the greats.



That is why Iowa fans always said he was soft. He had no fire for the game. That is when he played there.

Please keep in mind that AT grew up in Ames. He was a little cyclone. He did not receive an offer from ISU so he could become a "Big" Cyclone. For all we know he grew up dreaming to play for ISU but since he never received an offer chose the next best thing. The other big in-state school. And this whole time he has kept his dream alive... to play for the clones.



Again, this is all speculation, but I doubt a kid that grew up in Ames hates ISU.

I will avoid discussing the little "troubles" they are currently having...pretty evident with current events. There is no baiting going on here...you started this juicy thead with absurd comments and even more insipid follow-ups. As far as the intelligence scale goes...just look back at your howling tripe you keep regurgitating about a college kid and his motivations.

How does this anger towards Alex develop? Did he get some "suggestive" looks from your mother or girlfriend?..does he drive an Iroc-Z that you so desire? Or is it this...as you ponder your career at Cub Foods...are you jealous of his opportunities at "book learnin". Do tell us.

Seems that everyone on this board has forgotten that AT was a pine-rider for most of his time at Iowa, with good reason.



Perhaps he can be coached by McD to be a better player, but that remains to be seen. And in the meantime, we shouldn't be giving him a free ride. If he wanted to get out of playing for the Fighting Alfords, we shouldn't be playing second fiddle to them on this.



I want proof that he is a good player before giving up a scholarship for him. He did not provide that proof while playing on the Alfords.

Good greif Monkeybrew.....Who peed in your cheerios today. I agree with your side of the AT issue totally, but aren't we a little tough on a fellow Cyclone asking a somewhat legitiimate question. Did he know that ISU never recruited him??? Should we give him an honest answer to an honest question and find out if he has alternative (Pukeye) motives before we pounce on him like an Eagle on a rabbit in open prairie ground?????? I for one thank the cyclonedrew for being a Marine and defending our country......

I think Thompson will be awesome for ISU because this year he is going to toughen up our bigs playing them hard on the practic squad and next year he will be a big contributor to our success. Their could be another reason that he is transferring. As he gets older, he is bound to mature which shows EIU as much less attractive and ISU is light years ahead. Kinda like trading in your Chevette for Lamborghini
