**** Iowa

Yup - I knew that. And I agree - it WASN'T a good game, at least not for ISU. Defense was bad, they let your guys run down & pop up shots all night. Shooting was horrible.

Worst of all though was the team that called the game. I absolutely despise watching anything produced by BTN...there is absolutely NO effort to go past 2-3 talking points on opposing teams that are non-B1G. And I swear one of those dudes had a hard-on for a couple of the Hawks - Jok & one other. He disagreed with every call on them. I think Jok could have punched Monte in the face and that announcer would have said Monte shouldn't have put his face in front of Jok's fist...

It's a good thing the game wasn't on BTN then

Aren't Benetti and Calhoun from ESPN?

Or when the post player rolls before the pick actually impedes the defender. We saw that multiple times last night.

Yep. Maybe time to work on some offensive sets instead of Monte ISO and the pick and roll. You know...run Thomas or Naz off some screens on the baseline, try to get them open for a catch and shoot on the wing. But, nah, let's just have them stand there and look pretty.

This would be a great point if the game was actually on BTN and not ESPN. Other than that, great post!!

You don't seem to understand how the internet works. Or sports, for that matter. Before the game, during the game, it's trash talk. Little ******* that don't show up until after the game is over are just that...little *******.
**** Iowa fans.

Except herkster. He had the balls to be here BEFORE the game. I'll take the "**** ISU" from him.
O look, the Tavern Hawks don't like KC.

For the record, I assumed that ESPN was using a BTN feed because of the BTN logos that were all over my screen, and the dearth of Big 12 info. Note that I said "produced by", not "shown on".

If I am in error, I apologize. In that case, ESPN needs to hire some announcers that are a tad less homer.

Calhoun is an absolute horrible color guy, but its hard not to like Benetti. His life story is pretty amazing.

Sorry - don't know anything about either one of them. They just annoyed the hell out of me. And a lot of the time, I got the information from hearing the in-game announcer in the background at Carver, or from the box score/play by play on ESPN because those two were so busy chatting. Just call the damn game.

I have to agree, KC. The story telling and chatting is filler for when there isn't any action not instead of calling the action that is happening on the court. Just like the close ups of players who just made a play are cool if there is a break in the action not when seeing a player strut or high five is making us miss action on the floor. A missed steal, foul, assist or bucket because of crowd shots, player closeups or stat/highlight packages are a fail by the director and shouldn't be tolerated.

Sorry...I wasnt trying to call you out or anything. Honestly, because of Calhoun alone, I had the Chiefs game on audio and was watching the basketball game on mute. Benettis life story is pretty cool though...look it up.

Oh, I didn't think you were. I guess I'm really more interested in the game than the lives of the announcers. :)
