What do you guys think of Iowa and Nebraskas new rivalry t-shirts

Very original, since they've been using that for the last 2 years for the ISU-KSU game.

I've vomited better, more original ideas. I guess not everyone was cut out for success.

Yeah I heard about this from my brothers a few weeks back... way to blatently rip off another team's series

I saw the term 'Farmageddon' getting used with regard to the Iowa-Nebraska games as early as June 11th, when Nebraska moved over to the B10.

Just think of the potential rivalries. Farmageddon between Iowa and Nebraska. The Barry Alvarez Invitational between Wisconsin and Nebraska. Put Nebraska against Penn State, Michigan or Ohio State, and TV execs will drool.
Big Ten and Nebraska make a great match - Big Ten Blog - ESPN

When Iowa's playing and the game's on ABC, or ESPN, chances are, they'll show some cornfield or a ear of corn or something. Couple that with Nebraska and their already established love for all things corn... It isn't going to be surprising if the national media picks up the whole Iowa-Nebraska Farmageddon thing and runs with it.

Fail...

Funny because I have heard it for ISU-KSU for over 2 years. Iowa isn't an ag school and have you even run this by Hayden "God" Fry yet? I'm not sure he'd like the idea since he used to mock farmers before playing ISU. Surely Hayden Fry (the reason Iowa City loves men), wouldn't stoop to such a level to A) steal lowly ISU's already used term for a series and to B) Associate Iowa to farming... oh wait, I forget he is a hypocrite.

The sad thing is that this will catch on around the country since Iowa vs Nebby is about 20x more high profile then ISU vs KSU.

I think the name is stupid as hell and ISU, KSU can keep it and should.

Oh no, I wasn't trying to say ISU-KSU wasn't using it first. I know for a fact that the ISU-KSU game's been referred to as "Farmageddon" for some time now. I was just saying that it's shown up several times (Big 10 blog once or twice and I think once on ESPN) where it's been referred as a potential "Farmageddon" game.

Point being, if the media picks this up (and you can be assured that the game will have copious references to corn) , forget about the ISU-KSU game being referred to as Farmageddon by anybody outside of Iowa State and Kansas State.

Personally, I don't want the Iowa-Nebraska game to be called Farmageddon. Not just because it's already a used name, but because I think it's a terrible name for Iowa, considering we aren't, in anyway, an ag school.

Really though, is this not a surprise to anyone that the University of Iowa stole this? Just add this to the list of using the Pittsburgh Steelers jersey's and "claiming them as their own" (and then continually railing us for "copying USC"), doing the "Hawkeye Chomp" to the Imperial March (coincidentally installed the year following playing the Florida Gators in a bowl game), the "Black Out" (Penn State's "White Out" anybody?), and now tonight's "Black and Gold Spirit night", with alternating black and gold sections of fans (for some reason, this reminds me of a game I just saw last week involving a team with orange, blue, and white...).

End Rant.
