Umm... I was a boxer for 7 years and boxed for ISU under coach Dowd for two years before he had his heart attack. I also taught kids how to box.
My point was that athletes never want to give up or admit they're too injured to compete. It is up to their coaches (and in boxing, even the referee) to make that decision for them and look out for their best interest.
The fact that nothing happened to Scherff in that game and you saying it worked out great for him is the same as if I raced a car without a seatbelt and claim that was a good idea if I did not get into an accident. Is that a better analogy for you?

No, the analogy sucks. Seems like the overall point you're trying to make is that KF doesn't act in the best interest of his players, plays guys like Scherff when he shouldn't, plays guys like Ott after some phantom surgery, blah blah blah. Isn't that your point?
Sorry, but KF continues to put guys in the NFL and recruiting players at a much higher level than ISU. If he was such a bastard and heartless coach who cares not for his guys you'd think he wouldn't put his guys in the NFL and recruiting top-15 classes. You'd probably be better off talking to the families of these unfortunate kids who come to IC and tell them how their puppy-kicking, pissing-on-homeless-guy head coach is really the devil incarnate.

I don't think Ferentz is quite as bad as Kilmer but that's not a terrible comparison
Your obsession with KF makes sense. He has accomplished more in his tenure at big bro than isu ever has.

I'm probably a bigger fan of Ferentz than you are. I don't like that he plays hurt players and risks their futures to try to win games but other than that I think he's terrific and hope he stays in Iowa City for 20 more years
20 more years would be awesome. 5-8 more top ten finishes, several more New Years Six Bowls and wins, numerous First Round NFL draft picks, national coach of the year awards and of course even better facilities than we have now. None of which would ever impact little bro because you say so.

This year Iowa's big games are Wisconsin and Michigan and tickets are priced accordingly.
At isu, Iowa tickets are always priced higher than any other game because it is your Super Bowl. Assuming of course that Pollard even allows Iowa tickets to be sold other than in season ticket packages.
