IOWA vs IOWA STATE

contrived crowd energy from Carver....The Hawk fans incredibly threatened by Fred and ISU. They have to show they're the nations best fans, conveniently forgetting their 5000/game noshows from 2005-2010

Biggest bandwagon mbb fans anywhere

Hawk's Nest another contrived failure, attracting about 200 students/game around Alford's swan song and the lickliter years.

The one thing that consistant with Iowa fans....They bloviate, blabber about the greatness that is the U of Iowa mbb team, while displaying amazing ignorance with everything else

Most Hawk fans have no idea who is on the ISU roster (Hogue, Kane? who are they?) All they know is what the Hawk media feeds them.

Biggest sheeple in college sports

I will say this again...

Iowa has a darn fine team this year. They will give us everything we can handle on the court and we'll be damn lucky to to get out with a win. I also think Iowa can legitimately challenge for 2-4 in the Big 10 this year. They present a difficult matchup for pretty much everyone with their length and depth.

Having said that, they are easily the ugliest team in BBall.

ISU is going to shove these fools around. They just have to weather the early storm. Iowa usually starts off strong while ISU starts slow. 2nd half will be an ISU domination.

False
Their loss to an emotionally exhausted Villanova team proved that. Watch the KU vs Villanova game and then watch what took the court against Iowa. Villanova was disinterested for the entire first half and still won. Iowa is overrated.

Damn lucky to win in Hilton huh? Depth and length? They play 9 guys and their two biggest guys COMBINE for 32 minutes a game.

Lucky to get out of Hilton with a win? Yeah, ok.

ladies and gents i have to admit this game is scary, there is no doubt in my mind that the hawks will finish better then the michigan team that pushed us to the limits AT hilton with their stud seeing limited time. I think we have to shoot well, Iowa will sit there in their 2-3 zone and only shadow nazzy matty ice and maybe melv, we will have to knock down some shots because we wont be allowed to put goerge on the right block every time or have kane walk down and get good position. Iowa is very long idk how you can deny that lol but they are CLEARLY the ugliest team in college hoops. Who will our match ups be, if they go white marble uthoff basabe and gabe how will we guard that?

You can keep saying it, and from watching ISU and last 3 Iowa basketball games, I will keep choosing to disagree.

Cyclones are going to cause major problems for Iowa's D. If Marble has a down game this game will be a blowout.
Good win for them vs. ND last night, but let's not forget this isn't a great Golden Domer team and the Hawks let them fight back from double digits halftime lead at home. Not a good sign.

I guess we'll dissagree that is a top 4 Big 10 team IMO Iowa isn't better than Mich St., Wisc., OSU, or Mich,. The Big Ten is down, just look at the tounaments and the ACC/Big ten challenge games (3-2 with tight wins by Iowa and Minny last night) so they'll likey get to the touney, but let's not pretend they are better than they are.

Quite a few of those awesome fans showed up dressed as empty seats last night.

Iowa is better than both Wisconsin and Michigan right now and it really isn't close. OSU and Mich St are better teams for sure, but Iowa could beat either in Carver.

If we come out shooting well and avoid silly fouls, we should win. If we start racking up silly fouls and aren't hitting our shots then I'd be a tad concerned.

You said Iowa is better than Wisconsin right now? You're joking right?

Iowa is going to have to play much better to have a chance in Ames. They play well in spurts but are very inconsistent offensively and often go long periods without scoring much. It hurt them against Nova in the 2nd half and again last night at the beginning of the 2nd half. I really thought Iowa's effort was poor last night and that they are capable of playing much better. They got outhustled a lot and defensively they were no where near as good as they can be.

I like that they finally went to a smaller lineup with Gesell, Marble, McCabe, Uthoff and White. That lineup still has plenty of length but they have 5 guys that can score in a variety of ways. There are some interesting matchups with ISU if they go man to man, but I would expect a lot of changing defenses.
