Hey guys just wanted to announce that we will be returning to the TBT Tournament this summer!! (Provided we play of course) and will be announcing the team tomorrow at 12 noon on our twitter page at @iowatbt.

We have a roster of 10 guys that we are excited about. 2 Cyclones, 2 Hawkeyes, 2 Bulldogs, 1 other and 3 "Grad Transfers". I have worked closely with both Jeff Horner and Marcus Fizer recruiting what we think is a far more competitive team than last year that you guys will be excited about. Unfortunately we are not able at this time to get a UNI player, I will say it was not for a lack of trying. Our call list for this year was over 120 players in total!

We also have a lot planned for you as fans. We will do our typical marketing week for each player leading up to the tournament, helping you get to know them better, but now we will have more giveaways! Autographed balls, Trivia Day to win an autographed Iowa United practice jerseys, Beer gift cards (Mmmmm...Beer), and a community event to meet the players, coaches and staff.

Wow, that’s a nicely put together team. It is hard to get excited right now with the uncertainty of the event though. If it does happen I will certainly be watching and cheering! Thanks for your hard work in forming this team and everything else behind the scenes.

Yeah he was really good. And remember Diante put up 25 and 30 a couple years ago in this..he is coming back from an achilles but he says hes doing well.

If Daum can control the post that can be a big plus. From what little I've seen, this type of basketball is won with solid guard play.

Hard to get excited when it seems like 2-3 of the best players flake out right before the games for the past couple of years.

I understand what you're saying, and sometimes it IS a pain. But it isn't always them "flaking out". Two years ago (maybe three), Deonte Burton dropped at the last minute because he got offered a spot on a G-league roster. That worked out pretty well for him.

Yeah Burton got a contract, Homan got hurt few years ago and Jok got hurt last year. We really even with the Hilton team have not had a major problem with flakeouts.

In any case we have done a better job this year of making sure we have a bullpen of sorts just in case.

The hard part is that after June 15th anybody we add costs me a $1000. Doesn't matter the reason. So obviously a lot can happen in 6 weeks. We should be OK though. We had a conference call the other day and they seem pretty confident that they can adapt with the virus and everything going on to hold an event.
