Iowa State vs Iowa

I don’t get how this has been admonished as much as it has, ISU has only won 4 times in Carver since 1996, 2 were under Fred in 2010 and 2014.

So what is that 4-9 or 4-8 because of Covid years?

Not that bad when you consider totally impotent McD Years are included…then
Keegan was supposedly hurt last year and played 37 minutes. He was on the floor with 2 minutes left in a 21 point blowout @jereseib. Kris is playing tonight.

This should be posted in the threads asking why Iowa tends to be overrated in the score prediction tools like Kenpom.

I'm not sure what's going to happen tonight. I feel like I know, but for some reason, after watching our ladies team struggle at Carver last night, my confidence has become shaken a bit.

Kris Murray did not look hurt at all against Duke. My guess there was a small tweak and the boot is precautionary.
The only thing hurt that night was his season-long averages.

Kidding of course, because I don't really know if or what he tweaked. But certainly a game he'd like to have tossed out.

Would love to see Ward get more minutes.
I feel like he's in a tough position. Defensively he adds great length and actually does a pretty good job of using that on the perimeter, even when guarding out of position. But offensively he just doesn't do enough imo. I think he'll continue to develop though as he was not here for a large chunk of the offseason and that could've stunted it a bit.

His father says otherwise.

Right. And like you said in a previous post....

Keegan was hurt in every game he played poorly in last year.

Be the same for Kris. I'm certain if things go down like last year it's because that isn't Kris's real leg.

It was amputated earlier this week however like a champion he insisted they ram on the prosthetic so he could take a crash course in walking and soldier through the pain to be with his Hawkeye brethren against the evil clowns.

Yeah I think he plays. I was just responding with what his dad was saying publicly. I do find it sort of interesting that he'd give out information like that. I wonder if Fran is pissed because coaches like to keep those sorts of things under wraps.

It really feels like Iowa's ripe for a crazy shooting night and add that to ISU's habit of being impatient with the ball and I can see why Iowa is favored.

Yeah he doesn't add a lot on offense but I think he could give what Jones gives and he is a much better rebounder than Jones. Most of Jones's rebounds are off his own shot. lol. He also a great lob threat and I think they could make much more use of that and get some easier buckets with those plays.

Oddly enough I trust him on put backs or having touch which is not the case for about everyone outside of Lipsey.

The lob threat is no doubt greater with him than Jones but I do disagree saying he could do the same. Rob actually is a threat with the back to his basket. Now, does he shoot more than he should down there and sometimes do too much? 100%. BUT he's a threat and makes some good plays. Ward hasn't shown that he can do that but I think he will as he just hasn't had much developmental time under Coach Green yet.

He does have nice touch! I actually think he needs to be more aggressive on the offensive glass because he could get so many rebounds that way. He seems sort of reserved as a player and I think TJ and the staff are trying to uncork him. May take some time though.

My favorite play all year with him was actually just this past Sunday where he got switched out on one of SJ's guards and the guard tried toying with him and Ward picked his pocket and we almost got a fast break. He's so dang long and he causes a lot of disruption.

Yeah, the closer we get to tip off the worse I am feeling. Losing to Iowa in basketball is so much more infuriating than any other sport
