Iowa State Section - Kinnick

I got section NB as well, glad I'm not the only one who can't find where the hell it is at. The best that I can find is that it is North Bleachers in front of 134-136 sections. Basically north end zone field level.

This is correct.

There are small bleachers of about 6 to 8 rows on the field in front of the end zone seats on the north and south ends that don't show up on the seating chart.

Iowa does that for every visiting team.

I know I was just saying that if it is such a big deal to make sure home fans contact visiting fans as little as possible, Iowa wouldn't split ISU fans up.

I think it would be to our advantage to split visiting fans up in the stadium so there isn't basically an opposing student section in one of our endzones.....

I sit in the South endzone much closer to the visitors than the students and I can tell you the visitor section is nothing like the student section. Even when sold out, the visitor section doesn't even approach the volume or energy of our student section. This is a lame analogy.

When Iowa had their band there last year and they had the section sold out, we played the entire overtime in that endzone and I would say that the noise was an issue. My point is 4,000 people in one location in a crowd of 50-55,000 people all in one place next to an endzone are loud enough that it would be better to split them up.

Got my tics from ISU AD today as well. I'm not in 101 or 110. Tips say Section NB. Looked on all seating diagrams and none show this section!!! Where the hell is it at?

Maybe they thought you wanted tickets to the Nebraska game!

Some of the band members posted that the Iowa band doesn't have to "obey" the czar in the booth like they do at Jack Trice. It seemed like they were playing all the time and right up to the snap. Very annoying.

Not just annoying, but in violation of NCAA rules.

NCAA Rules, Rule 9, Sec 2, Art 1b
5. Persons subject to the rules, including bands, shall not create any noise
that prohibits a team from hearing its signals (Rule 1-1-6).
Penalty is a dead ball unsportsmanlike conduct foul - 15 yards (and automatic first down if applicable).

I've never seen it called, but it should be when the team is obviously in formation and calls are being made. If a team is attempting to audible and the band is playing there is no reason it shouldn't be called except that it hasn't been and no official wants to be the first. This is especially true when the band is holding a last note loudly obviously with this intent.

Between the Iowa Band and the Iowa State scoreboard operator there were a lot of petty noise games being played up until the snap last year.

I don't disagree. And as a longtime ISU fan who has seen a good number of "when do they ever call that?" penalties over the years, I cringe when it is done to the visitors at JTS.

Is there a reason the visitors aren't in the balcony at JTS? It seems like you would not want the at field level right next to the endzone.

They are. They get lower and upper sections. The understanding is that the opponent allotment contains different "tiers" of seating, similar to what's offered to home team fans.
