They are ahead 1 game to 0, the first game they won easily. The second game seems to be stalled for some reason, I hope there wasn't a riot. You would think Oky fans would be out watching their football team today, at least the routy ones. I hope nothing is wrong. Go Cyclones.

According to the Cyclones.com live chat, the good girls just took the second set, 25-20, and hold a 2-0 set lead in the match.

Yeah, I should be following the chat because the stat thing is stalled. It isn't working.

Iowa State beats Oklahoma 3-0. I can't be around on Wednesday for the K-State match. I found out that CJL doesn't like to put replays on games because she thinks opposing teams use them for scouting. I am sure if I were an opposing coach, I would but it means I can't watch many of these games. It is the reason I got the service earlier because I don't watch football unless it comes on network tv. I feel somewhat confident about K-State the way ISU has been playing unless for some reason we don't match up with them well. This win was great!

Looks like Hock has been replaced. Sorry to see that but sure CJL has good reasons. Go Malloy!!

she's been struggling all year.....just not going to be at the level she was soph year pre-injury. Still a great backrow player, but we need the hitters up front.

I wonder if she is ailing. I have heard several interview by CJL that sounded like something wasn't quite right, at least she sounded like Hockaday doesn't have much jumping stamina. Maybe it is like you say, she can't get back to the same level.

Hock will play back row for Hurtt and Hudson will sit...It might just be for the time being too. CJL might just be resting Hocks legs for the tourney now...She also said that they need Malloys offense more than Hudsons defense for the time being. It will be interesting to see if Hock does come back to hit in the post season.

My guess is that it all depends on Malloy. If Malloy keeps playing at the level she has been, you can't not play her. She is a difference maker out there on offense and defense right now. The team was very successful last year with Hock coming in to serve and play back. That was because of players like Peterson, who Malloy resembles in some ways, and thus this could be a very positive dynamic for the team. Especially with Hurtt stepping up and maybe having some flashes of Jensen. It has also seemed to benefit Straube, by letting her get comfortable in her role again. The big plus is that Hock can play up front as well, and thus by saving her now, that remains an option in the tough stretch ahead.
